25.01.2022 Last Friday we said farewell to one of our best. Rod has been in the Roadcraft family for 7 and a half years. However, he has supported us through much more throughout the years. Rod was instrumental in securing and obtaining funds for several sites. From securing $78K from Freemasons to build the shed and toilet block at the bike rack and $20K of TMR funding for primary courses - just to name a few. Rod has been a terrific educator and team member. The team could always rely... on Rod arriving with a sunny and happy disposition and a very hearty Good morning. Rod, your positivity and what you brought to the Roadcraft culture was always appreciated by everyone. The participants of his course explained Rod as invaluable, excellent, helpful and encouraging, knowledgeable and approachable and this is definitely the most important one. BEST FACIAL HAIR! We wish you all the very best in your retirement and we also wish you and Sue happy adventures on your many travels. Drive safe - we know you know how. Thank you Rod!

The students who come through our courses leave with such valuable knowledge that they take with them on the roads and through their driving life. 19.01.2022 Of course we all want to get home to our loved ones this Christmas. We all know WHY we need to drive safe - but who’s teaching you HOW? Don’t worry, we do this bit at Roadcraft. Also, a big Happy Birthday to Rod!

19.01.2022 At Roadcraft we advocate a following distance of 3 seconds, but in adverse conditions this distance needs to be a minimum of 5 to 6 seconds. This will give you more time to respond to anything unexpected and allow you to stop in time.

17.01.2022 We asked one of our participants why she chose to take part in our Student Driver Course and we could not have said it better ourselves. A huge problem we notice is the first time most novice drivers get to test their reaction to an emergency braking situation; it’s usually in an emergency situation when their lives depend on it. This is the benefit of having a purpose built driver training facility we can teach you what to do in a safe environment, providing preparedness and avoiding tragedy.

13.01.2022 Leave your phone alone! This sentiment should be obvious, but now more than ever as the Queensland government are trialling cameras to spot those using mobile phones in their vehicle or not wearing a seatbelt. Don’t risk your life and your livelihood.

13.01.2022 The silly season is coming up, meaning it’s the time of Christmas functions and sometimes more celebratory alcohol intake. Enjoy the festive activities but please remember to separate the drinking from the driving - carpooling and Ubers/Taxis are a great option! We want you to get home safe and well to your loved ones this Christmas. Speaking of silly, we hope Craig had a great time celebrating his 60th yesterday!

11.01.2022 Have you been feeling a little rusty behind the wheel? Our mature driver refresher course is the perfect thing to re-sharpen your driving techniques! We still have spots available for our one-day refresher course on the 13th. If you book by the 9th of November, we’ll even drop $50 from the price.

10.01.2022 2020 will long be remembered as the year of the pandemic but, with approximately 1200 traffic related deaths each year, road trauma is definitely an epidemic. We’ve spent the last 40 years developing the vaccine and you can get it here at Roadcraft. Education is the answer. Also we don’t want to forget to wish Paul a big Happy Birthday for yesterday! We hope he spent it fishing and he’s now ringing in the new year with a freezer full of fresh caught fish!

09.01.2022 Even in the year of the painful pandemic, we’ve still managed to put 1940 participants through one of Roadcraft’s potentially life-saving courses and now it’s time for a well-earned break. Our office will close at 4.30pm on Friday 18th December and reopen on Monday 4th January. We wish you all a happy Christmas and, of course, safe travels always.

07.01.2022 Throwback to our primary school course delivered to Federal State School last month, funded through a community road safety grant courtesy of the Department of Transport and Main Roads, with the support of Kin Kin Lodge and Gympie Lodge. It is so fantastic to have the support of our local Crime Prevention Coordinator, Senior Constable Darren Hewitt, who has committed to attending as many of these courses as he can. This is a wonderful example of what community collaboration can achieve.
