22.01.2022 Quad bikes are one of the smallest four-wheeled vehicles on and off WA roads. While they have the benefit of four wheels, they share a lot of risks with motorbikes and bicycles. It's estimated that 186,000 quad bikes are in use across Australia. Quad bikes have become increasingly popular and are now being used by farmers, local governments, search and rescue teams, recreation clubs and tourism companies to assist with a variety of activities. Yet, it's estimated that the economic cost of quad bike related fatalities and injuries in Australia is approximately $204 million per year. Find out more: http://ow.ly/3t2R50BfqC0 #KnowInjury

11.01.2022 If you are involved in a crash, you do NOT have to accept the first tow-truck on site. Make sure you know who is taking your car, and whether your insurance can cover it. This can reduce even more undue stress in an already stressful situation. Read more via Consumer Protection WA

10.01.2022 We welcome the newly announced compensation scheme for medically retired Western Australian police officers and Aboriginal Police Liaison Officers. Those injured in the line of duty deserve support when they can no longer serve, and this scheme is a positive move to provide appropriate support for those dedicating their lives to protect the WA community. Well done to Premier Mark McGowan and Police Minister Michelle Roberts MLA - Member for Midland. Read more: http://ow.ly/HN...JX50CufbN Photo: Sandy Lukjanowski, Paul Zanetti and Christine Smith.

09.01.2022 Sometimes it is just easier to talk to others who have experienced the same thing as you. They have walked the same path as you, felt the same things as you do and can even share what has helped them get back on the right track. Peer support offers the chance for a group of people who have been through the same experience, to recognise each other as peers and to work towards helping and supporting each other. If you are interested in joining us for a peer support session for anyone who has been involved in a road crash, starting mid-late October, you can express your interest with us here http://ow.ly/p6aY50BF4v0

03.01.2022 It takes 3 times as long to stop from 60/65 as it does from 40km/h. Someone struck at 40km/h has an 80% chance of surviving without serious injury - at 60-65km/h, that ges down to just 15%. Do your bit, and slow down. http://ow.ly/VcsL50BfqEG
