24.01.2022 What a day!! Today we spent the day at Sea World - Gold Coast, Australia. A few things were closed due to Covid but with the parks max capacity of 6500ppl and only about 300ppl in attendance for the day, the only wait for a ride was for staff to clean the rides down between use! We basically had the whole place to ourselves and the best seats in the house for all of the shows!!! The kids experienced their first epic roller coaster ride and loved it! Charlize a...nd Royce now want to be dolphin trainers and Taj wants to be a seal trainer. Oh and Royce wants a roller coaster in his house I have requested an illuminating jelly fish theater room! We clocked up well over 18,000 steps each for the day and were totally shattered by the end, but we all managed to see and do everything on offer! It was so much fun creating (and re creating my childhood) memories as a family

23.01.2022 Please get your skin checked!! And your mammogram booked!! And your annual testing booked for everything you should get checked!!! ... Do it and do it now!!! It could save your life!!!! Now after that little passionate lecture I have news to share... Last week I noticed 2 small black moles on my leg and it prompted me to book our annual skin check. We were booked in for Thursday and made it a boring life admin day and tick everything off the list. I was back the next day getting the two moles removed!! I then received a phone call yesterday that one of the moles that was removed on Friday is a malignant melanoma (a spreading cancerous mole), and a Category 1- the step before emergency. So we packed the caravan up last night and left this morning to head back to Toowoomba to see the specialist again today. He has advised that the sight needs to be further removed as there is some cancer still remaining and to make sure it is all gone. We were immediately refered to the local hospital and told the whole process will take 2 months and to stay in the one place for this period of time. This was through the public system. Or we could try our luck going private but they are all booked out until January and some March to even get a consult. After a few hours of research and ringing everyone in town this afternoon, we were very lucky and got seen straight away by a specialist surgeon and they were amazing and have booked me in for surgery tomorrow afternoon! I go in at 2pm and should be out by 7pm if all going to plan!... We should then have results by Monday I believe to find out if it’s all gone and the next steps. We should be able to move on and get dressings checked after that and follow up appts at doctors on our travels. My head is totally done for the day as it has been a total whirlwind and lots to think about in a short space of time... and far from what we had planned for today (were supposed to be crossing over into NSW today!) and sort out but we have done well! I am so grateful and especially to have Tye Pope by my side!!! I will need serious distractions tomorrow as I have to fast from 8am!! and I will be eating about 20 eggs at 7:55am I’m otherwise totally fine. I just need to get it cut out, the scar will be another crazy story to tell, and then we can move on with the more fun things on this journey @Roamin Popes! I wanted to share this because it could save your life, heart ache and stress to you or someone that you love!!! Please book all your checks in no matter how busy you are!!! And prompt your friends and family to do the same!!!

21.01.2022 Movie World, QLD Day 1 After being homeless all morning then reconvening at the local tavern for lunch while the kids did some school work, we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at Movie World! We spent the last 2.5hrs of the day exploring the park and taking advantage of the outdoor rides and activities today as we had planned to spend the day at Movie World tomorrow, however it has been forecasted for showers all day and a sever thunderstorm in the aft...ernoon! It was a good move today as all the little ones in attendance were absolutely cracking it at 3pm, and so were some of the parents, and soon left so the little lines dwindled down to hardly anything (probably only a 15 minute wait for any rides today) - the line barriers were soooo long so I would hate to see these places on a normal day!! The kids raced to the roller coasters again and had a ball. We also managed to get the last ride of the day on the Spooky Scooby Doo ride. It was a spooky ride but I had no idea that it would be a bloody scary ride!! I swore quite a few times while squeezing Royce’s hand so hard thinking I was going to fall off the edge at speed and die!! Omg!!! It was extreme but so much fun!! The kids were super elated after the ride and want to do it 100 times more tomorrow!! I have grey hair and had to apologize to the kids for all of my swearing!! We also got to meet a few character but we had to still social distance 1.5m so my excitement for reliving my childhood photos with characters and creating these memories for the kids were a little different this time around We also visited the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Candy Shop and got ourselves a Wonka bar... but no golden ticket There was also a studio full of costumes and props from some of the recent top movies so that was pretty cool to check that out. On the way home we had to show the kids some of the old school WB cartoons so they knew who Bugs Bunny was, Daffy Duck, Tom and Jerry I was getting so excited seeing them but the kids had no idea hence me jumping in on the photos... big kid here ain’t missing out! Haha Tomorrow will be a different visit donning a poncho and dodging the lighting storm, but we will still make the most of it. It might just be the excuse I need to not go on some of the roller coasters! They look insane!!!!!

14.01.2022 Soooo... last week we found out that it’s a public holiday today and being a long weekend. Apparently it was moved recently as Queensland missed their royal show day with Covid so it’s an irregular long weekend. We have been calling places all week to book somewhere for this weekend but everywhere is totally booked out!! We finally got a booking thank goodness, and we had just arrived.... to see that the park is totally closed because of Covid!! WTF! And the number we k...eep calling keeps going to voicemail!! - apparently the phone centre we booked through didn’t check the park we were booking first! We are now driving around with the caravan in tow and going to try out luck at some show grounds that don’t take bookings-first in best dressed. As this was not planned we have no water in our tanks so this will be a different sort of adventure day today **Update... we found a place for tonight! Absolute rip off and I’m pretty sure the car won’t be there in the morning . Thank you to all those who tried to find alternatives for us!! You are amazing and we really appreciate it!! We also have a spot for tomorrow night, rather out of the way but it is a place to stay so again we are grateful We hope to stay at Jacobs Well on our way back as it was a beautiful location and the gentleman that I spoke to at the caravan park was very kind, nice and helpful

13.01.2022 Back for Round 2 Day 2 of Movie World for some more action! Today we ventured straight to the outdoor rides and activities before the (non existent) storm arrived. The Batman ride (full speed up then full drop down... leaving your guts behind!! ) was first on the agenda, then laser guns at the 3D Justice League ride. Back to the Spooky Scooby Doo ride where the man told us about using the App to book your spot in the line then get notified to go to the ride and go... straight to the front and skip the whole queue!!!! It was the best!!! We skipped 30 and 60 minute queues and managed to fit in 4D Yogi Bear Movie (4D adds element of space... chairs moved, air blowing in your hair, water sprayed in your face and things flying around during the show) and the cool stunt driver show too! Then it was time to go to the totally epic adults roller coaster - DC Rivals Hypercoaster (the pink one with the Joker at the top) and skip a 1 hour and 35 minute wait! Omg!!! This ride was insane!!! I was practicing my breathing and brain training as I was totally pooping myself!! Tye went first and his face when he came off was priceless! Then it was my turn and my goodness... insane!!! But I’m so glad we did it. I would so do it again!!! After 3 days and 3 theme parks, we have had the best time and done it all (Covid style- limited rides and entertainment but limited attendance numbers ) and we are totally shattered but it has been all so worth it!! The reactions, words and faces of elation from the kids through the last three days was so awesome and special!! Thank you Gold Coast, Queensland! Memories made forever!!

11.01.2022 What a treat! We just spent the last 5 days in Armidale staying with my beautiful friend Susanna Greig, who I worked with over 8 years ago, in her gorgeous and spacious home! It was a perfect place and time to wind down for a few days and really take things slow. There were even a few moments where we had our feet up! We also arrived a few days earlier than her renovations being completed so we had the fun of all sleeping in one room, with the twins sleeping half under our... bed and Taj just rolling under to join the fun as they thought it was such a novelty! (when you love living in confined spaces... go smaller! ) but we all had the best nights sleep! Such a treat! We enjoyed the space and the stunning views from Suz’s house and did Christmas arts and crafts, lots of schooling and mostly playing with Suz’s beautiful dogs!! The kids walked them, washed them, brushed them, danced with them and just played and cuddled with them the whole time! It was so nice to catch up with Suz who was so accommodating and it certainly didn’t feel like 8 years had passed. It was also so nice to reminisce on our PICSE days working together from a far. We still ventured out a bit and went to the Dumaresq Dam Armidale, Great Hops Brewing Co, Armidale Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place and learnt loads about the local arts, culture and materials, and also popped into The University of New England to catch up for a coffee. We couldn’t do anything there due to Covid but it was great to see where I had been cross communicating with during my Agricultural Education days. We also ventured out to Uralla and checked out all of their super cool shops, cafes and eateries! Including The Top Pub Uralla and the gorgeous shop upstairs, the Wool Shop, the The Pie Mechanic, and the super cute and very interesting gifts and homewards store called Little Birdy. We even had a real treat and went to The Sweet Place and chose a treat each. The kids had to do some serious maths for the lady but they wowed the pants off her so she gave them an extra treat. Mum and Dad however had fun reminiscing with some Sour Warheads the kids thought it was hilarious!! Thank you Armidale and Suz for a wonderful time and we really loved the time to wind down a little and stretch out the body in an open planned house, and even be in another room than the rest of the family!! Hehe And we will never forget the great family Suzzie Sushi Session!! What fun and so yum!

10.01.2022 Omg!!! Soooo happy!!!!!!! Well done everyone for doing the right thing and keeping our country safe, happy and healthy!!!!!!

10.01.2022 Won the melbourne cup already today on this 95cm horse from the yak!! First ever barra so instant PB. Did the pre-dawny and was the only one on the water so nobody got to see my extended running man dance on the banks with bonus vocals!! Net was way too small so had to paddle him 80m to the bank to land it after 4 big flips out of the water, grabbed a few selfies then released him kicking strong. Thanks to Les Smith my unnofficial barra coach who took me on his boat yesterday to teach me the way of the barra! Very happy boy here and another goal of the trip ticked!! Lake Callide Retreat has certainly delivered the goods!!

08.01.2022 Today was a WetWet and Wild, Gold Coast kind of day! There would have been only 100ppl in total in the park all day!!! So we basically had the park to ourselves again today! Lots was closed but all of the kids areas were open and some of the epic speed slides were available for Tye and I to throw ourselves down!! The 4 slides that look like they drop and loop... because that’s exactly what they do!! had a capsule that you stood in, then after a countdown...... and hyperventilation... the floor drops out from under you and you shoot down, do a 360 loop then shoot out the end in an epic 5 seconds!!! I ended up lying still in the water at the end still holding my breath and eyes shut, not knowing the ride was over!! my life was still flashing before my eyes!! this was just the first time we did it!! yes we went back for more!! It was another totally fun and memorable day and we are so grateful for the stunning weather (26^C) and exclusive park access!

07.01.2022 What a day!! Today we went 4WDing with fellow traveling friends along Rainbow Beach right out to Double Island Point to ride the ‘longest beginner wave in Australia’!! We also took our new body board and surf board for its maiden voyage, as well as taking the SUP out too and caught loads of awesome waves!! It was an amazing day out and hope to be back again this week. ... The rainbow coloured coast line is also known for being ‘some of the tallest sand dunes in the world’! ... which we sand boarded down all yesterday afternoon!!

04.01.2022 To all my friends using Moptops haircare 4 kids products!! Enter this awesome competition!!! And to all my friends with kids or grandkids that don’t use these products, GET SOME!! Hehe they are amazing!!! I could rave all day long about these products, but I won’t here, but if u have any questions just ask!!! ... We have been using these products for years and have also stocked the caravan with them. The kids loooove them and so do I, plus so do all the families we meet along the way!!

02.01.2022 Hello again NSW!!! - we have so much more to see! And bye bye Queensland for now. We will be back late Feb/early March to go back up the coast and all the way to the top! Yesterday we got the all clear from the surgeon to travel and just call for results in a week. So today we packed up moved on from Toowoomba 2.0 have just crossed the border into NSW, on our way to stay with a gorgeous friend in Armidale that I haven’t seen in over 8 years! It’s a fair drive today but we are smashing out the school work to complete as many books as we can before the end of the year. Yes I know it’s a Saturday but I’ll give them tomorrow off
