20.01.2022 This man deserves an appreciation post so that others can see what we see! School Holiday Program has been a great way to see how our staff bond with our clients and how they engage with them! We know that it is only day 3 of the program however he has been an absolute stand out, that we wanted him to know that we are seeing! we give all of our staff appreciation messages after every day however i believe that Matt deserves to stand out!! Throughout the two days Matt has been... on our program, he has engaged like an educator. Loved like a dad. Encouraged like a big brother and most importantly supported like a support worker! He has ran around with the children creating a train station with just a beach trolley! He has played frisbee for hours! He has calmed children when frustrated! Today we witnessed something else! Something that cannot be taught or learnt! His passion for helping people! This smile never left his face all day and was giggling away with his buddy, all day! We are extremely excited to watch you grow and develop in this sector and we are lucky to be able to have you on our team :D We have been ensuring that when we can each staff member has a day of rest during the program. We offered Matt Tomorrow off and he responded with "please can i work". You know you are proud of what you are doing and love what you are doing when you refuse a day off! We are proud that he puts on that uniform everyday and as the old saying goes, not all heroes where capes!!
13.01.2022 An amazing story of kindness! Xav (boy on right) met Kaiden for the first time today! Kaiden liked Xavier guitar so he went and grabbed it! Normally, that would end in frustration by Xav. However he calmly stood up, walked to a worker and told them that he didn't want him to use it! ... After the situation was resolved Xavier had an awesome idea to trace his guitar out of cardboard and make Kaiden his own guitar! This was an amazing act of kindness, thoughtfulness and resilience and we couldn't be prouder of that little human! He has come such a long way in such a small amount of time! Well done Xav, you make the world a better place!
