25.01.2022 We would like to thank one of our major sponsors, Minderoo Foundation, who recently hosted a roast, raising an amazing $26,000 for the A Roast to Remember campaign. The Minderoo Foundation was established by Andrew and Nicola Forrest in 2001 based on the mandate to give a hand up, not a handout. The Foundation has supported over 250 initiatives across Australia and abroad including projects in education, research, Indigenous affairs, disaster response and the arts. We're so e...xcited to have Minderoo supporting this initiative as we aim to better support those in the WA community who have been affected by dementia. visit https://www.minderoo.com.au/ to find out more.

18.01.2022 Meet Linda. Linda has been married to her husband John for over 44 years. Over the years, John has built their dream home with an orchard and raised 3 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren with Linda. They sought peace, knowing they could tackle anything in life with each other by their side. After many years together, a few years ago, Linda began to notice that John wasn't quite himself. He withdrew from teaching, something he was so passionate about. He enjoyed gardening l...ess, something he had always taken so much pride in, and he began acting irrational, which was strange because he had always been such a calm and gentle person. Then, things began to slip John's mind, which was difficult after being so sharp his entire life. Linda knew something wasn't right and John was frustrated because he knew it too. John was later diagnosed with Alzheimers, which was the answer to all of their questions. With the diagnosis, things only got harder as John's condition began to deteriorate further. John and Linda's story is sadly becoming more and more common. There are over 400,000 people living in Australia with this condition. Please help us support people like Linda and John. Were raising funds for a dementia bus that will offer therapy, education and respite when times get difficult. Why not make your Roast this Christmas one to remember and collect donations to help us get the dementia bus on the road.
