24.01.2022 Hello Geraldton

23.01.2022 ** Community Update ** I have been kept busy making my way through various industries and constituent concerns hearing from Horticulture farmers, work experience students and apprentices at Yanayimanha Dandjoo. Do you have a concern or would you like to get to know me please contact me via email [email protected] or phone 0498027129.... Furthermore, I will be at the Platform Markets this Sunday. Just look for the big blue Liberal tent. To read more about my **Community Update** click below.

23.01.2022 Midwest Community Living Association opened their new offices today at 75 Marine Terrace. It was a privilege to be part of the festivities today. The amazing work that MWCLA does in our community is outstanding and this new facility will enable them to provide more specialised services in the region. MWCLA is a non-profit Disability Services Organisation working to provide a lifestyle of choice and opportunity to people with disability. MWCLA provides support for individuals ...to live independently and meaningfully participate in the community. : Rob Dines with Clara Harris and Katie Sluka & Co - Clarity in Business

22.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago, I visited Helloworld Travel Geraldton with Alyssa Hayden MLA. Alyssa was petitioning the State Government to support small businesses who have been decimated by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was great to hear the announcement on Friday that small business like Helloworld will be able to access a grant. This has been welcomed news to many in the Travel Agents industry, however have they gone far enough?

22.01.2022 Big news today. Wishing Liza Harvey all the best.

21.01.2022 #AuslanCommunityLeadersChallenge2020 #InternationalDayofSignLanguages Auslan Australia’s sign language has played a crucial role in getting important information out to those who are hearing impaired during this time. A big shout out to all the Auslan Interpreters.

19.01.2022 The Mid West Gascoyne district is 15 police officers short of authorised numbers. Rectifying the police shortage is a high priority for me. Sign my petition to get more police officers stationed in Geraldton here:... https://www.petition.org.au/geraldtonpolice/

19.01.2022 On the 11th hour on the 11th day on the 11th month, we observe one minute of silence in memory of all Australians & New Zealanders who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. We will remember them. Lest we forget.

19.01.2022 It was great to see the sign going up today! It certainly stands out Thanks to local Geraldton Signmakers. Awesome work! #RobDines4Geraldton

19.01.2022 A positive step forward in the #SKA project. Melissa Price MP

19.01.2022 Congratulations Zak Kirkup MP and Libby Mettam!

18.01.2022 It's R U OK Day. It's been a tough year for many and it's important to check in on your friends, family and neighbours and see if they are OK. Just listening to your friends can save someone's life. Take the time and check in on them.

18.01.2022 Building a sustainable future for the regions Zak Kirkup MP, myself and the Liberal Party will invest in making our regions safer, creating more regional jobs and improving local services in our towns and shires, because investing in our regions keeps families together and attracts more people to live and work locally. The Liberals will do this by guaranteeing the future of Royalties for Regions, which has been ripped apart by Labor and sent to the city to pay for their blo...wouts on mismanaged city projects. Our regional communities give so much to Western Australia - it’s important that we give them the support they deserve, so that regional families and small businesses can get ahead, create more local jobs, be safe in their community and be connected right across WA. 17.01.2022 Headlights on! This morning's fog is a bit of a novelty but it's good practice to have your low-beams on all the time for safety.

17.01.2022 Community Update from your Liberal candidate.

16.01.2022 Barrett Dr & Brand Hwy intersection "..is dangerous..confusing and treacherous" according to a local magistrate. What Geraldton locals have long known is that this location, on national highway #1 no less, is sub-standard and that has now been confirmed with the court hearing it does not even meet Australian standards. This is the type of scenario we shouldn't have to put up with.... "8 crashes in the last 5 years" and the tragic loss of a young husband & father-to-be is evidence of the danger. This intersection is long overdue for a proper upgrade and I call on the State Government to make it right - no more band aid patch jobs! But more than that we need to remove the heavy haulage traffic from built-up areas to take pressure off suburban streets like Barrett Drive. Fix the intersection, properly. Remove heavy haulage through town. #GeraldtonMatters

16.01.2022 #NationalRoadSafety Awareness Week Drive so others survive. Western Australia is one of the worst in the country for road trauma. Tragically, someone is killed or seriously injured on a WA road every five hours.* Source: RAC National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative to highlight the impact of road trauma and honour those who have lost their lives on our roads. By putting a spotlight on dangerous driving behaviours, such as speeding, drink driving, fatigue and distract...ion, we are reminded that we all have a role to play in making our roads safer. Slow down, take your time and get back home safely. #RAC #Roadsafety #staysafe See more

13.01.2022 Presentations at the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry- MWCCI 'Business Before Hours' function this week from an old school mate, H, and a new acquaintance Anna Dartnell from Aurizon.

13.01.2022 Geraldton Matters and Local Jobs Matter. That's why I support the Local Jobs Guarantee. I am tired of seeing contracts for local projects going to interstate or Perth based companies. Under the Liberals, a 'local company' will be defined as 'companies within 125km of the project'. This would ensure local jobs and the profits would stay in the local economy. Geraldton Matters and it is time that 'Local' really means 'Local'.... #Geraldtonmatters #Localmeanslocal #Localjobsguarantee #ShopGeraldtonLocal

12.01.2022 There is a lot in common between the electorates of Geraldton and Moore and we understand the issues impacting us are often related. That's why Darren Slyns - Liberal for Moore and I are committed to working together for the whole Midwest region.

06.01.2022 Liberals commitment $1.5M for recycling for Geraldton. Geraldton has some of the highest container recycling of drink containers in the State and recycling is important to Geraldton locals. It was announced this week that if elected, Rob Dines and the Liberals will commit to $1.5M to the City of Greater Geraldton from the Royalty for Regions Fund towards the construction of a new waste recycling facility.... The community of Geraldton has been asking for better recycling facilities in Geraldton especially for household items and this new facility will help streamline the process. #Geraldtonmatters #Recycling4Geraldton #rob4geraldton

04.01.2022 Update to our State border: Based on updated Chief Health Officer advice, Victoria and New South Wales will be classified as 'very low risk' states from 12.01am, Tuesday, December 8. As a result, WA's interstate border will be adjusted, with travel from Victoria and New South Wales to be permitted into WA with the following conditions: ... - all Perth Airport arrivals to undergo a health screening and temperature test on arrival - travellers to be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at the airport COVID clinic, if deemed necessary by a health clinician (voluntary asymptomatic testing available for all airport arrivals) - completion of a G2G Pass declaration, stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and which jurisdictions the traveller has been in over the previous 14 days - all travellers to receive a SMS health check reminder one week into their stay in WA - all land arrivals to be met at the border checkpoint, for a health screening and to have their G2G Pass declaration checked. Other jurisdictions currently in the ‘very low risk’ category include the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania. South Australia will remain classified as a ‘medium risk’ jurisdiction. This classification will be reviewed again by December 11. Travel from South Australia remains prohibited unless travellers meet strict exemption criteria. Exempt travellers must also self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Western Australia.
