25.01.2022 Since we're home tied with this Covid 19, I realise that I'm not slowing down enough to stop and appreciate the beauty around me. I promise myself to stop more frequently and see the beauty that is all around me.

24.01.2022 This is a great idea. Sometimes we need a bit of notice, we can't just stop that quickly

24.01.2022 Rob couldn't help himself when he told his friends this joke this morning. I just put it to a image.

21.01.2022 A cheeky but appropriate sign seen on a beach at Byron Bay

18.01.2022 That's it we're heading home. It's only 3 days earlier than expected. It was 38 yesterday (it was 28 at 10.30pm last.) Today is expected to reach 41 (105.8 F) and then 43 (109.4) on tomorrow. Rob is finding it extremely difficult to breathe, he's not handling this excessive heat well at all.

17.01.2022 Stop criticising a man who's doing a very difficult job trying to save Australian lives, livelihoods and the economy.

17.01.2022 Are you dreaming of your post isolation trip? Where are you going first?

16.01.2022 This I got to try. I've lots of rosemary inn the garden. Hey Juliana ! Do you have sage? We could give each of them a try.

16.01.2022 We spent a couple of nice quiet days at Narrandera camping at Brewery Flats on the Murrumbidgee River. Big area, very suitable for big rigs too. Not many people but we certainly noticed the influx of Victorians on Monday just hours after the borders opened. Most have moved on already.

15.01.2022 The only way we can camp at the moment. Covid style.

14.01.2022 Visited Coolum Beach today. Perfect winter weather, warm in the sun and cool in the shade so you could take your pick. Mine choice is always for the sun.

14.01.2022 We had a day off in Harden on Sunday. The mechanic there was unable to assist us with our brake problem, so we moved onto Young. I really enjoyed having 3 full days staying put here at the Showground. We did a little shopping, visited Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Garden where back in the 1860's there was some terrible massacres of the Chinese. The govt took the gutless route of introducing what was later termed the White Australia Policy without really addressing the violent... murderous behaviour of a mob of rioters. The gardens are small but beautiful. It is a fabulous place for a picnic/BBQ. We also went Cherry Picking. It doubled as a trip down memory lane as we both did it for Pocket money as teenagers. We picked 2.3kg to take back with us. Long. My they are so much nicer straight off the tree. Yum. The Showground also is the Harness Race Track and the races (trots) were on. I've never been to one before. The actual race was exciting, but the waiting between races was boring. I left after the one race. We booked into the mechanic this morning (Thursday) where he actually tighten up the brakes. Totally the opposite of what I thought. Apparently the rough roads loosen the brake adjustments. (I think I've worded that right???) The important point is that are fixed and we moved on.

13.01.2022 Just reminiscing on a trip 2 years back to the marvelous Ebor Falls with Rob. Sadly we can't do high altitude places anymore due to Rob's deteriorating lung disease. He had such a hard time breathing, even when just sitting or sleeping in the high altitude, yet we are so grateful we did make it at least once. Please don't leave your travels until you retire. It just might be too late. Thankfully we started seriously traveling some 10 years ago, well before we took eary reti...rement. We had no idea that Rob would get sick in the years ahead. We will continue to travel as soon as Covid gone enough to make it relatively safe until we can't do it anymore. Even if travelling is not your "thing" then do not put of any longer the things that give you a sense of peace and happiness. You don't need lots of money for many things that can give you real pleasure. Focus on what you can do. Live your Life today, tomorrow may not come, at least not in the manner you had hoped for. You may not be able to change some things in your life but you can change your attitude to life. See more

12.01.2022 I did say we went Cherry picking in Young!!! 2.3kg plus what we ate whilst picking...oh they are so good straight off the tree. Lots for eating over the next week.

11.01.2022 I think it would be great to have a highway here. I had no idea roads costs so much. Is $20 million for 41km normal expenditure?

11.01.2022 You don't have to travel sometimes to see the most wonderful birds. Here's the male Australian King Parrot in our own back yard. His female partner was too shy and flew off on my approach. They are enjoying the plums off our tree.

10.01.2022 Beautiful beaches and marvelous sunsets to be enjoyed in Ceduna, SouthAustralia. Oh and don't pass up the opportunity to get the most marvelous calamari whilst there. While we're obeying the directive of staying home and staying safe, we want to encourage you to seriously consider holidaying within Australia when the travel bans are lifted. Australia has so much to offer, but more than that so many Australian businesses are hurting and need our help to get back on their fee...t. So whether your preference is a holiday on a houseboat, a trip in the camper or motorhome, or to a luxury resort, makes sure you're supporting an Australian business and but locally too in the areas you are visiting. So over the next few months we will be sharing some wonderful locations we've been to that we can highly recommend you include in a future holiday.

10.01.2022 We hit the jackpot with this pub stay. Billinudgel Pub (Northern Rivers area of NSW - just north of Byron Bay & west of Ocean Shores). Free camping green grass, good pub meals and great live country music. Down side is that it is a small site fitting only about 6 smaller rigs eg 7m maximum and you likely won't be able to turn around it'd there are others there. We unhitched the tow. There was just 2 others there at the same time as us. (A missed post - I thought I had but it was on a different site)

09.01.2022 I knew the USA was bigger than Australia. Some of the other country comparisons are surprising. https://www.farandwide.com/s/true-size-countries-7cf6e5a1ed

09.01.2022 Oh crikey, it's stinking hot! 36.8 degrees. (97 degrees F) with tomorrow predicting to be 41 (105) I went for a dip in the 'Bidgee and now we've moved on to Griffith. We had a pub lunch and then went sightseeing, principally to the multi award winning Pioneer Museum. It's huge with some 40 buildings. (I tried hard not to post too many photos) We are going to spend a couple of nights at a MSO at Yenda. (read my blog to learn more about MSOs if you're interested: http://robbiebago.blogspot.com//06/have-you-heard-of-mso.h)

09.01.2022 Staying home can be a bit of a drag. At least we had some activity going on. BHP were dismantling their power poles that run across the top of our property.

08.01.2022 A visit to the iconic Eumundi Markets never fails to impress. There's over 200 stalls. There is bound to be something there that will delight you. The quality and variety of handmade goodies, live music covering various genres including a triple didgeridoo and the food. Oh my, just writing about the food is making me hungry. So many cultures are represented, Spanish Empanadas to die for, German Bratwurst, Dutch poffertjes. Turkey, Japanese and so many more cultures too. J...ust make sure you visit on a Wednesday or Saturday when you're in the area. It's so worth it. Limited street parking but there is heaps of paid parking available ($6) with all proceeds going to charity. I can't wait until the council reopens the camping area. See more

07.01.2022 Bendeela/Kangaroo Valley - Binalong - Harden Time to move on from the lovely KV. However not everything goes smoothly all the time. Thankfully we have tyre monitors on all the tyres of the motorhome. We noticed that one off the back tyres was getting hotter than it should, necessitating frequent (5) stops to allow the tyre to cool. (We speed it up a little by dousing it with a bucket of water each time). ... We had planned on camping at Binalong but we just didn't like the feel of the place. We finally pulled into Harden at 7pm after leaving Kangaroo Valley at 11am. That did include a stop for lunch and a spot of grocery shopping along the way too.

05.01.2022 The view from our door tonight. We are camped on the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point just south west of Leeton. Maggies, ducks and Sulphur Crest Cockies are or neighbours.

03.01.2022 I'm not normally one for walking around a cemetery but St Stephens Anglican Church is absolutely fascinating. The oldest tombstone I found is 1808, (John Putland, an aid (sic) de camp to Gov Bligh) and I haven't looked at half of them. The Gothic sandstone gothic style building is heritage listed....And the noon day bells are simply divine... really there isn't a better word to describe it. I'd love to see it from the inside. That's for another time.

02.01.2022 If we stay home too much longer, we might have to consider something like this! I want to travel.... Right across borders... but safely of course. Will this Covid 19 ever go away???
