22.01.2022 4 years since I got in the shape of my life. This was a challenging journey as you’d expect. HOWEVERthe things I DIDN’T have to do to achieve this physique were as follows... Hours of cardio Fad diets Long periods of fasting Cutting out Carbs Eliminating all foods I enjoy HIT workouts Using Fat burners Steroids Bullet proof coffee Use any supplements besides protein shakes Going to the gym more than 4 hours a week. Making drastic changes to my existing training routine. Patience, a consistent calorie deficit, sensible food choices and a bit of accountability and support from coach @gordongreenhorn were the important things needed in that journey. It’s the basics done consistently over a long period of time that get the best results. 15.01.2022 3 months of cold showers and don’t think I’ll look back now. I used to think it was crazy and pointless when people waxed lyrical about these. The interesting thing is I can’t really think of one morning where I’ve actually felt like getting up and turning those shower taps to freezing cold.... It’s taught me a valuable lesson though as the very essence of discipline is not just doing something when you feel like doing it but doing it regardless of how you feel. This may sound a bit dramatic for something as trivial as the water temperature of a shower but you can extrapolate it to any area of life. I’ve worked with many people that struggle with fitness and building the body of their dreams and a common barrier is they don’t really enjoy doing the things it takes to get there. There are health benefits as long as your arm from taking cold showers but the main one is how amazing you feel after, both mentally and physically. When we attach ourselves to the feeling after instead of before we do something, be that cold showers, going to the gym or any other discipline, you’d be amazed at just how much easier it is to stay consistent and get the result you want from it.
