03.01.2022 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your lif...e; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. Joshua 1:3, 5-7 How was courage instilled in Joshua who had no military experience neither did he consider himself worthy to take over from where Moses left off. Joshua was chosen, he was assured of victory wherever he went on the one condition that he keep the law of Moses that he not turn to the left or the right that he might prosper everywhere he went. Who we associate with can also have a profound effect on our development and direction we take in life. Joshua surrounded himself with responsive and responsible men he could trust to be accountable not only to him but to God. Men appointed by God to stand with him. Psalms 1:1-3 talks about separation from worldly influence and wickedness of ungodly people to total dedication and delight in the law of God wherein is the course of prosperity in all of it's form. Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Sustenance, guidance and right thinking which leads to prosperity can only come from delighting in the law of God. Great peace have they which love Thy law and nothing shall offend them. Joshua kept the law of Moses and went on to have success, fulfilling his assignment in getting the Israelites over the Jordan, defeating enemies along the way to the promised land, the final resting place. Success for us as Christians is in keeping the law of love Jesus commanded we observe to keep. In this our enemies are defeated one by one to get ourselves and those God touches through our obedience over the line.
