24.01.2022 This Saturday 12th Dec members Jordy and Robbie take on The Cancer Councils Longest Day of Golf. They are taking on the mammoth task of playing 72 holes (4 full rounds of golf) in one day! Going on Robbie's average arithmetic he has worked out that it will be 34kms of pushing a buggy and about 360 shots in hopefully 13-14 hrs. If you would like to support the boys you can make a donation at https://www.longestday.org.au/fundraisers/robsandjords or there is a donation tin at the club. Donations no matter big or small would be greatly appreciated to help improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families and to fund research for treatments and cures.

23.01.2022 Sunday 1st Nov - John and Margie Burr Mixed Pinehurst Championship Yesterday was the 24th running of the John and Margie Burr Mixed Pinehurst Championships and what a day it was! 19 teams competed in the event and by all accounts, that is the biggest field we have had so congratulations to all members who turned up and played. We had 6 lonely men left over who played a stableford event also (more ladies required!)... The course was in fantastic condition thanks to Barry, Darren, Jack and the team of helpers, and the weather was good with just enough breeze to have something to blame if the scores didn’t pan out. Taking out the day in fine form and claiming the John and Margie Burr Shield were a first time pairing in Robbie Chapple and Margie Lawrie who had a very impressive 77 off the stick for a Nett 64.625. Very well played and well deserved to both of you. Coming second was the always dangerous team of Robbie and Mr Douglas who had an 88 Nett 67.0 Third was Kev Otten and Ruth Gerlach on 73.0, 4th were the Mains on 73.125 and coming in 5th were the team of Tony Wilson and Jess Malone on 73.25 Because you can’t win everything all the time (and Margie and Robbie get a bloody big shield!), the Gross was taken out by The Captains (always going to be in it somewhere as I am the one doing the cards!) who had an 85 on a countback from the defending Champions Sean and Carrol with 85 also. Coming in 3rd was Sally and Barry with an 87 on a countback from Tim Malone and Binge also on 87 (and my sincerest apologies for missing your card out yesterday) and 5th was the Foreman’s on a countback from the Forster’s both on 89. In the Stableford, Mark Goldsworthy hit a purple patch and took home the bacon with 42 points well clear of Bill Speirs on 36 in 2nd and Rob Cece on 34 for 3rd. Nearest the pins went to Holly Prest and Tony Wilson on the 16th, Binge Rivaz and Jordy Pettit stuck them close on the 5th, on the 11th in 3 The Dutton’s combined to stick it within a few feet for well deserved Birdie and on the 18th in 2 Mark Goldsworthy stuck one in close and held the lead all day. 22.01.2022 Ladies Results 21st October 2020 On Wednesday we played an Irish Ambrose in teams of 4 and it turned out to be a fun team game where all players had to try to score well over 3 sections of the 18 hole course. The ladies all enjoyed the variation of golf scoring and slowly increasing the pressure to have more players score well in last 6 holes.... Sponsor for the day was Di and Chris Dutton who have been very generous this year making sure the ladies are being congratulated for their golfing results. Winning team was- Ruth Main, Anne Foreman, Merle Clements and Marg Lawrie with 88 points. R/Up-Binge Rivaz, Lorraine Pryce, Ruth Gerlach and Meg McLarty with 87 points. NTP on 8th- Team Lorraine P, Binge, Ruth G and Meg McLarty NTP in 3 on 18th Team Sue McFarlane, Sue Dening, Robbie Douglas and Mary. Heather Tucker Def Sally Emery 3/2 in the Semi final of Handicap Club Champs. We have one more match to determine the Handicap Club Champion this year and we wait to hear if Anne Foreman or Robbie Douglas will be playing Heather Tucker in the finals. 01.01.2022 Ladies Results 4th Nov 2020 It was great to see Rosemary Williams, our lady patroness and Wendy Leopold, one of our funniest and happiest lady that I know come and play golf in our closing day Ambrose. We had 19 ladies play in a 3 person Ambrose over 12 holes. Off the stick scores were very close and the Nett winning team with 19.4 was- ... Anne Foreman - who is in great form with her new sticks Meg McLarty - who is going to bring her handicap down soon. Rosemary Williams and Wendy Leopold sharing their position in the team. Runner up team with Nett 20- Ruth Gerlach, Audrey Lawrie and Verity Q Watson! We had a mystery 2 holes in the first 6 and this was won by Team Marg Lawrie, Sue Denning and Holly Prest. 2nd mystery 2 holes in the second 6 was Team Heather, Sarah Hitchcock and Di Stuart.
