24.01.2022 A wonderful initiative which can be easily adopted all over the world. Simple, clever with wonderful results as is but imagine strings of them connecting to larger existing areas of greenery. Please go to the World Economic Forum link: https://www.facebook.com/worldeconomicforum/posts/10157229735611479 Wishing you much success.

23.01.2022 I have been musing on an extract from an article by Klaus Schwab published by the World Economic Forum in January 2016 and thinking how prophetic his words 4.5 years ago were. I wonder whether the inexorable integration of technology in our lives could diminish some of our quintessential human capacities, such as compassion and cooperation. Our relationship with our smartphones is a case in point. Constant connection may deprive us of one of life’s most important assets: the time to pause, reflect and engage in meaningful conversation.

19.01.2022 Extracted from a World Economic Forum article written by Robin Pomeroy: people who have been living in places that are more polluted over time, that they are more likely to die from coronavirus. what we know for sure is that is that air pollution is already prematurely killing 7 million people around the world. .. as governments have to invest to rebuild their economies, they have a chance to make better choices. There is a clear mandate for. Politicians to make sure that, at the very least, economic stimulus does not increase air pollution.

14.01.2022 MOVING FORWARD The world has been dramatically challenged by Covid-19. On a glass half full basis it produced a great act of solidarity around the word as we gave up civic freedoms to save lives. Civil unrest has been escalating, massive inequality, eroded trust in governments, the climate emergency, racial, gender and other inequalities is entrenched, and we face the moral and ethical challenges of new technologies. For the world this means a new social contract where people and the planet are central to a SHARED prosperity built on rights and inclusion.

06.01.2022 Why is Australia so far behind Estonia? Estonia pre-coronavirus had built an advanced digital society providing, inter alia, electronic voting, online learning in schools, digital bureaucracy, and healthcare. Citizen’s embraced digital because it was transparent, fair and to the benefit of all. See the difference. At the heart of its transformation lies trust in the government, public institutions, and a belief everyone will reap the rewards of technological progress. See th...e difference. As an example, 87% of schools were already using e-solutions before covid-19. Estonian teachers are trained in digital education and internet safety. See the difference. There are multiple other examples. The key ingredient is trust. The Estonians trusted their government to build a digital system that would serve and protect all of them. The difference. This post has relied on an article of the World Economic Forum of the 1st July 2020 by J Silaskova and M Takahshi. See more
