09.01.2022 To our family and friends in Italy! Naturalmente, abbiamo sentito parlare dei problemi in italia con il virus, siamo tutti nella speranza e preghiamo che tutta la nostra famiglia e gli amici rimangano al sicuro e non subiscano il virus.

01.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFO TO SHARE: Like everyone else, I am very concerned about the spread of the virus. Like the public posts about petrol bowsers and shopping trolley ...handles being major sources of viral transmission, I believe an even bigger one is THE DOOR HANDLES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF TAXIS AND UBER CARS. Further and bearing in mind the new distancing rules, some times Taxis and Ubers will take up to 4 to 6 people (plus the driver) at a time with closed windows and air conditioning possibly recycling the internal air. I am so concerned about this myself as an uber driver, I have decided to self-isolate my self for two weeks and pray I have not contracted it myself already, and I hope that if I do have it, that I haven't helped pass it on to anyone else. If we look at the age groups and locations of the people infected so far (20-69, the most in the 30-39 band (https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/news/Pages/20200322_00.aspx)) they seem to correlate with the age groups of people I typically pick up and drop off, typically living in apartments and working in busy built-up areas. Thankfully with most social venues closed now the frequency of people using passenger transport is becoming less and less. (It looks like home delivery is the go). But bare minimum I think like on public transport all Passenger transport drivers should wear masks and use disposable gloves to handle luggage at least for their own protection. Time-consuming and costly maybe drivers need to also clean door handles after every trip, is that practical and possible, I don't know and leave this for further discussion with you all, and hopefully raise the issue to a higher place for some practical advice. Fingers crossed I haven't got it and this post helps prevent even some further infections. Think about it this way also how many of those 2700 passengers from the cruise ship got a taxi or uber home, yep exponential curve material. See more
