25.01.2022 This is an uncertain and scary time to be in business, but to me it feels familiar. Right now we have to fight for every scrap while the odds seem impossible, but I’ve been here before When we opened our doors 10 years ago sales were few and far between, our rent roll was at zero, nights were often sleepless and the future always uncertain. But through all of that we built a strong business, one that can endure as the landscape around it changes. 24.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday Whenever I’m asked how long I’ve been in real estate I always respond ‘my whole life’. Most people react with a chuckle, but it’s a true story, and here it is My first ever appointment appeared in Dad’s 1982 REIV diary on February 7. Mum had been sure to pencil it in so as to remind Dad of my imminent arrival. Like all great agents, I wanted to make a good first impression so I turned up a little early, on Feb 6 (hence the addition to the diary).... Less than a week later day, I helped to close my first deal on the way home from hospital. Dad had arranged to meet a buyer at the Council Club in Preston (later known as Cramers), as expected he got the deal done, while I sat next to Mum patiently observing from my basket. By the time I made it home from the hospital and less than one week old I had one deal under my belt and an addiction to real estate (and beer).
