25.01.2022 Very proud, as today Robert Pyne Photography went past the 10,000 Facebook Likes. I could have never imagined this kind of support when I first started this page. My aim was to show that nature is a wonderful thing that is often overlooked in our busy lives or the world’s obsession with growth at any cost. The objective was to capture its beauty to help bring it and it’s plight back to the forefront of our minds. Thank you, every one of you.
23.01.2022 Superb Fairy-wren captured hunting for insects at the base of the Murray River riverbank at Gorman Park. 22.01.2022 Echidnas are one of the nosiest creatures on the planet. Always poking their nose in somewhere. All jokes aside they are so good to spot and photograph. I find them so intriguing. We watched this one go about its business for 10-15 minutes at Gorman Park yesterday. Our attendance (at a distance) didn't bother it at all. FUN FACT: Echidnas and Platypus are the only living mammals that lay eggs. ... How lucky are we in Australia to lay claim to both? Don’t forget to zoom in. #photography #wildlife #nature #echidna #spinyanteater #mammal #gormanpark #australia #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #echidnacsi Echidna CSI
22.01.2022 In and out of the pouch. The close of this Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joey makes it look a little bigger than he actually is. They are the cutest little creatures. 19.01.2022 As promised last night, here a few shots of the Chinaman's Island Tawny Frogmouth family. Tawny Frogmouths are so full of character you can't help but love them. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #frogmouth #tawnyfrogmouth #chick #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #thelook
18.01.2022 Took my Daughter and Grandson to Chinaman’s Island to see the Tawny Frogmouths yesterday. One parent was guarding the two that had left the nest the other was looking out for the one chick that was still nest sitting. It is such a joy to watch Tawny Frogmouth families. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #frogmouth #tawnyfrogmouth #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #thelook
18.01.2022 Captured these Little Corella today down at the weir. There were hundreds of them and it was very entertaining to watch. 18.01.2022 Somehow I think these two Eastern Grey Kangaroos may be related. Same stance, same ear positions and both chewing grass. FUN FACT: Kangaroos best defence is their hearing. As shown here their ears can rotate giving them a full 360-degree listening capacity. #photography #wildlife #nature #mammal #marsupial #kangaroo #easterngreykangaroo #joey #australia #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourshot #wildplanet

17.01.2022 In the last post, I mentioned how good this time of year is. Not only is the weather great it is also breeding season. I captured this Pacific Black Duck and its Ducklings on the pond at Chinaman's Island this morning. It is always great to watch how close they stick together and how close they stick close to mum/dad. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #duck #ducklings #pacificblackduck #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #cute #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet
17.01.2022 Captured these Magpies today at Chinaman’s Island. Who would have thought this was a way of feeding. 16.01.2022 Make sure you zoom in. Here is another Nankeen (Australian) Kestrel from this morning, poor skink. Geez, it was hot out there but well worth it when you get shots like this. I only sighted 4 but I believe there are a pair and four juveniles. More photos to come. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #kestrel #nankeenkestrel #australiankestrel #prey #kill #skink #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet
16.01.2022 Not a Tawny Frogmouth or a Koala but a couple of White-plumed Honeyeaters. Captured at Chinaman's Island. They are beautiful birds that are very flighty so it is not always easy to get a good shot. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #honeyeater #whiteplumedhoneyeater #flighty #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet

14.01.2022 Always good to see your work printed, framed and hanging on a wall. Thank you Roseanne Boyle.

12.01.2022 Pacific Black Duck making its way down the lagoon at Gorman Park. Commonly known as the PBD the Pacific Black Duck is a social duck which is mostly vegetarian but occasionally feasts on small crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic insects. To feed it plunges its head and neck into the water upturning its body, this is known as dabbling. #photography #wildlife #nature #bird #duck #pacificblackduck #pbd #australia #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourshot #wildplanet
12.01.2022 If you ever wondered why Tawny Frogmouths are so hard to find, this image may give you some idea. Captured today after a little bit of searching as they have moved from the nesting area. My guess is they know some hot weather is coming because they have move to a shadier spot and are lower to the ground. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #frogmouth #tawnyfrogmouth #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #hardtofind #camouflage
12.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE & LET THE FUN BEGIN. Look at what just got delivered. Other than taking the photos my favourite part of the calendar is getting all the comments from clients when they turn the page to start a new month. Every one of our native wildlife is beautiful. This year is a mixed bag, the majority of images were taken in the wild. A few were either taken at Moah's Ark Yarrawonga Wildlife Shelter (a real highlight for me in 2020) or Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conserva...tion Park. Both play an important part in keeping our natives around for a long time. WAYS TO ORDER:- 1/ Visit https://robertpyne.net/p/2021-australian-wildlife-calendar/ 2/ Leave me a message on Facebook 3/ Give me a call on 0490 026812 For those who have selected pick-up please message or call me to arrange a time. A BIG THANKS goes out to Thomson's Graphipress for a job well done.
10.01.2022 Got a call last night from a Steve in Barooga (Facebook follower) advising me of a Kestrel family. This morning I went to take a look. I have lots of photos to look at still but I thought I'd post this one. Take a look at this poor juvenile's face as it is taunted by this Willy Wagtail. Thanks, Steve, more photos to come. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #kestrel #nankeenkestrel #australiankestrel #willywagtail #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #taunted #lookofhorror
09.01.2022 On the March It's hard work trying to keep up with mum and dad when you only have little legs. Anyone remember experiencing this? 09.01.2022 I could probably post a new Nankeen Kestrel photo every day for the next year. I will leave it with these until the next opportunity to shot them. It was stinking hot but well worth getting sweaty for. Don’t forget to zoom in. Once again thanks for the heads up Steve Tymensen, I hope I did them justice. .
08.01.2022 Yellow-bellied Water-skink making an appearance from within its lakeside home on Chinaman's Island. I love the colors of these little creatures.
08.01.2022 Another Rainbow Bee-eater image from today at Gorman Park. One wishes it had a catch and the second just about to devour its. 07.01.2022 If you ever wondered why I love nature photography you just have to look at the photos I have posted the last few days. 06.01.2022 Back to our tree hugger friend today. Day two shots showed a bung eye. I reported this and sent photos to Moah's Ark Yarrawonga Wildlife Shelter and Loretta paid a visit to check on him. It turns out it is not Sherbert but is in fact Bruiser who only has one eye and is a Koala that Loretta raised as a Joey. The eye could possibly have an infection but apparently, they clear themselves up, which is good news. Below I will leave a link to my wildlife calendar. To be hones...t, I make very little money on these but what I do make helps me keep on getting out there and taking images to share with you all to see, it also helps me spot things like Bruisers eye and report them for our great wildlife carers to check upon. I have added standard post with no tracking for those wanting to save a few dollars. https://robertpyne.net/p/2021-australian-wildlife-calendar/

04.01.2022 Here's a couple of images of our regions most common ducks. The first is a Pacific Black Duck with its ducklings and the second are Australian Wood Ducks. 03.01.2022 Went for a walk around Chinaman's Island today to check on the nesting Tawny Frogmouth (still nesting, no action yet). Birds everywhere, it was a hype of activity, making you feel alive. On the way out I spotted two Black Swans with their Cygnets, I couldn't help but stop the car and grab the camera again. This is the result. Nature is a beautiful thing and this time of year is just the best. This would have to be one of the cutest photos I have taken as a wildlife photo...grapher. So, cute it would have made this year's calendar. Don't forget to order yours. Previous years have sold out. 03.01.2022 You ask for it. Another Chinaman's Island Tawny Frogmouth. This is one of the parents keeping an eye on me as I look for angles. The positioning of the parents was very interesting. The juveniles were above the parents and the parents were positioned so that no matter where I stood at least one had a clear view of me. Whether this is by design or coincidence I don't know. #photography #wildlife #australia #nature #bird #birdlife #frogmouth #tawnyfrogmouth #chinamansisland #photoftheday #picoftheday #imageoftheday #natgeoyourphoto #wildplanet #thelook #thestare #deathstare

03.01.2022 When your focus is on the Rainbow Bee-eater with the Butterfly and another one photobombs the shot and looks like it wants to pinch it. 01.01.2022 and we have at least one Tawny Frogmouth chick. Taken this morning on a walk around Chinaman's Island. Got out early as it is already 35 degrees here in Yarrawonga. 01.01.2022 A few Eastern Grey Kangaroos at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort and Gorman Park Lagoon. The big boy with his huge ears and bulky tail looked a little lost in the car park.
