23.01.2022 Robertsacre Perendale Lambs. Looking on nil drench and 3 day grass rotation. #bringontuppingtime!
21.01.2022 It's the time of year we gather up all the ewes and give them the once over before flushing and tupping time. These girls have all had a mineral bolus and are still 100% nil drench against worms. A few photos of bringing the perendale ewe lambs back home, as well as drafting in the Romney ewes before we put the rams in on the 5th November!

10.01.2022 Welcome to the Robertsacre Perendale flock. Established only this year, we have carefully selected North Country Cheviot Hill rams to cover our New Zealand Romney ewes. We now have our first crop of Perendales lambs on the ground, and we are really chuffed! Over the next couple years, we will be trialing and selecting ewe lambs to keep as replacements and running them out over the hills of Dartmoor, and selecting only the hardiest to breed from in respect to their foot health..., live weight gain, wool quality and worm tolerance. All of our sheep are totally grass reared, no hard feeds. We paddock graze all our sheep on a 30 day rotation, moving paddock every 3 days. This maximises grass growth and keeps worm burden and foot health well managed. We hope in the next couple of years, we will be selling out first group of Perendale breeding ewes aiming specifically at SDA farms and moorland areas. See more

02.01.2022 Busy family day yesterday prepping the grass for the autumn. Following our 3 day grass rotation with our sheep, we top any left over stalky grass which the sheep have not grazed and apply BetterGrass feed, once in the spring and in the autumn. This ensures all trace elements are maintained in the grass, thus ensuring the pasture is supporting our sheep as much as it possibly can. This product is completely chemical free, and we believe the results show in our lambs this season. 01.01.2022 The start of it all!! 16th September, we trekked up to the Scottish Borders and met up with a renowned breeder of North Country Cheviot Hill rams. We learned a lot of knowledge from the shepherd at Shaws Farm, Newcastleton, about the high health status flock which were ran at 2000ft. We selected two tups, to bring back to Devon, and they have settled in very well.
