18.01.2022 Growing inequality is a key challenge for our state. It's a real honour to have Pas' endorsement for the Legislative Council and if elected to State Parliament, I'll continue the fight.
17.01.2022 In 2015 I was proud to become the first out gay man to represent our state in the federal parliament and stand up for the rights of LGBTI South Australians. If I join the state parliament, I'll continue the fight.
17.01.2022 If we were paying attention to economics and equity we would look to remove the GST from public transport, invest heavily in more public transport, introduce congestion charging in our CBDs and most obviously introduce a carbon tax on all fossil fuels.
16.01.2022 How embarrassing! At this time of climate emergency we should be encouraging the use of electric cars, not discouraging them.
16.01.2022 I welcome any promotion of electric cars but it will take more than a display in the mall to make up for the damage that’s been done to Town Hall’s environmental record, Robert Simms tells CityMag. It sounds like a bit of greenwashing to me... it’s not going to take away from the broader initiative, which is about trying to bring more cars into the CBD at a time of climate emergency.
15.01.2022 Lest we forget.
14.01.2022 Gabrielle Bond is a power-house community organiser who has been a leading voice in the discussion about how SA can create a future that works for people and our planet. I'm delighted to have her support. Thank you Gabie!
12.01.2022 This. If we don’t want people to work two jobs, perhaps we should ensure they have enough hours and pay so they don’t need to.
07.01.2022 SA should follow Victoria’s lead with our own Green New Deal to: move to 100 per cent renewables by 2025 invest in green manufacturing (boosting construction of electric cars and buses) put our public transport network back in public hands build more social housing
05.01.2022 Last night, it was great to chat to Peter Goers about the latest from Town Hall. Topics included: public art in the city, the senseless review into the Hutt St Centre and the infamous Driver’s Month. The interview is a few minutes in, after the first song.
04.01.2022 There’s a terrific turn out at this morning’s Bicycle Swarm in opposition to Town Hall’s absurd ‘Driver’s Month.’ At this time of climate crisis, we should be encouraging more cyclists and pedestrians, not more carbon emissions. Thank you to Extinction Rebellion South Australia for organising!
01.01.2022 Two years ago today I was re-elected to Adelaide City Council as an Area Councillor. It's been an honour to serve our community. Despite the challenges, I'm proud of what we've achieved together and the progressive wins that have been delivered for our city. Thanks everyone for your support!
