19.01.2022 A little news story about what's happening in Gunnedah at the moment. I can't believe they put my "Happy Days" comment in the newsclip! This time reminds me of the Global Financial Crisis back in 2008-2010 where again Gunnedah seemed to be in their own little bubble compared to our city collegues. This was when the Govt first introduced the $7000, and then later, $14,000 first home owners grant which kept our market alive. First home owners were buying all the cheaper homes a...nd using the grant as part deposit or to upgrade the house with new floor coverings, A/C etc. Now, during this pandemic, it's the first home buyers again that are pulling through and buying real estate due to the Govt incentives. This, on the back of lots and lots of rain and busy activity in the agriculture and mining sectors, is seeing a strong demand in all real estate areas - sales, rentals, commercial, industrial and rural.
