25.04.2022 Last year the research house Lonsec published an article discussing the difference between the lifestyles of retirees who utilised an adviser and those who opted to try it themselves. One of the biggest impacts was shown in the likelihood of moving the balance of super to a cash allocation when the market has a bad turn. the graph in the second slide shows the effects, on a superannuation balance over time, where those without an adviser were more likely to shift their mo...ney to cash to prevent further losses; and instead solidified the losses and didn’t give the market the opportunity to bounce back (as it is likely to do). Those with an adviser did not make these changes and as a result earned roughly $125,000 more in a 15 year period. Pretty significant difference, right? #financialadviser #adviser #networth #retirement #retirementplanning #retiredlife #lifestyle

09.04.2022 Often times you hear the complaint that someone would love to live more sustainably but it is too expensive! While this can be true, there are definitely steps everyone can take that both reduce your impact AND save you money. A few of our favourites include: ... opting to cycle or catch public transport where manageable finding creative ways to use all of the food you bought at coles storing your food appropriately so that it lasts longer keeping the jars that once stored a sauce or pickles and use it for storage instead of buying something extra to decant those pasta shells into investing in an ethical, sustainable fund to put pressure on big businesses to prioritise the safety of our only planet It doesn’t always have to look glamorous to be meaningful #climatechange #climatecrisis #climateaction #sustainableliving #sustainablelifestyle #sustainable #littlethings #bigimpacts

22.03.2022 The Reserve Bank of Australia announced on Tuesday that the offical cash rate will hold for another month at 0.10% despite inflation rising to their comfortable levels (between 2-3% is the usual target). This means that mortgage rates remain low and cash investments continue to offer significantly low rates of return. #wealthcreation #inflation #cashrate #investing #mortgage

06.03.2022 Your financial health is just as important as your physical health. It allows you to reach your goals and live your life the way you want to. If you’ve ever thought financial planning isn’t for you, then it probably is ref: - Luther et al, 2018 ‘generational differences in perceptions of financial planners’. 22.01.2022 Two accounts: both starting with a balance of $500,000, both with an income of $44,146pa (the average amount for a single comfortable retirement budget) and both with an average return of 8%pa over ten years. So what's the difference? Client 1 experienced decent returns at the start of their retirement journey, where Client 2 experienced poor returns at the start of their retirement, and their money never had a chance to recover.
