21.01.2022 Wed like to shout out and thank Dirty Janes Bowral for sponsoring the Australian Championship Potato race again this year . This competition really is a highlight and crowd pleaser year after year at the show, where they line up to lug the spuds a full lap of the arena, carrying a sack of Robertson potatoes weighing in at a whopping 50kg! . Every year it makes for wobbly legs and true grit to cross that finish line! ... . Dont miss this fabulous event, which will take place around 2pm Saturday 14th in the main arena. . Be sure to check out Dirty Janes Bowral when youre next in Bowral, or their new store Dirty Janes Canberra opening in Fyshwick 25th March 2020! . 02.01.2022 134TH ANNUAL CAMDEN SHOW FRIDAY 27TH MARCH - SATURDAY 28TH MARCH 2020 The Camden Show Society Committee met on Monday 16th March 2020 to discuss the implication...s on the 2020 Show. In order to comply with Section 7 of the Health Act 2010 it is a requirement that all public events with more than 500 people be cancelled in response to COVID-19. The Camden Show Society chose to wait and gather as much information on the current national and worldwide situation and discuss our options for the 2020 Show. The Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd (ASC) and the NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard have urged community events to follow the advice of the National and NSW Chief Medical Officer. Our members, volunteers, exhibitors, competitors and community are of utmost importance to us and it is with great sadness that we must cancel the 134th Annual Camden Show due to be held on the 27th & 28th March 2020. Due to the current climate of the virus, it was felt that we could not guarantee a postponed date would be an option. During the meeting, Greg Wall, Camden Show Society President, thanked all of the volunteers for their valued efforts, who have been working tirelessly for the past year to produce the 2020 Show. Thank you also to our sponsors and members that always show the committee great support. With the expectation of over 45,000 people in attendance over the two-day event, he reiterated that the health of our community must be at the forefront of our minds. The committee look forward to bringing the Camden Show back in 2021. In the 134 year history of the Camden Show we havent had to cancel many shows. The 1896 Show was cancelled following a long drought. Twelve years later 1908 drought again caused the cancellation of the Show. Ironically, the Show was held every year during World War I, but then was cancelled in 1919 because of a combination of the Spanish flu and drought. No Shows were held during World War II i.e. 1941 1945. The Show has been held without interruption since 1946. Whilst rain has affected many Shows there has been no cancellation due to rain or flooding, but there were some close calls. 1890, 1894 and 1956 flood caused the Show to be postponed. We thank everyone for your patience, understanding and ongoing support. We will be in contact with our stake holders in due course. We are looking forward to bringing back a bigger and better Show in 2021. 135TH ANNUAL CAMDEN SHOW FRIDAY 19TH MARCH & SATURDAY 20TH MARCH 2021

01.01.2022 The Robertson Show Is On Tomorrow! The Show committee acknowledge the Prime Ministers recommendation that events over 500 people can go ahead this weekend prior to the Monday precautionary cancellation advice. With so many shows cancelled over the past months due to fires and flooding, our exhibitors are looking forward to seeing our Highlands community and visitors tomorrow.... We recommend visitors take all appropriate precautions including bringing your own hand sanitiser. And with rain forecast a brolly is also a good idea. See you tomorrow at the show.

01.01.2022 On behalf of Bowral Show Inc. we regretfully advise the 2021 Bowral Show will be cancelled. Due to the uncertainty of the current state of Covid 19 affecting th...e greater Sydney area/Wollongong and Canberra, which all surrounds Bowral, our committee has decided that the potential public health risk that this poses, is too much of a risk to the local community. Based on this we have regretfully resolved to cancel the Bowral Show for 2021. Kind Regards Peter Howard President Bowral Show Inc. See more
