All going well for Thursday's at present keep up the good team effort.... Saturday see both teams at home with Div 1 taking on Clare Gold and Div 2 taking on Booborowie. 21.01.2022 Saturday both divisions were home. The weather was not promising with strong winds and rain falling. The skies cleared and the wind hot stronger but we were able to get on the green. Div 1 took on Watervale Greg took on Peter's and was in control through out the day in very difficult conditions. Street took on Jordan and had a good battle before Jordan gave up a big number going down 14 to 29. Roger took on Milburn and was also in the running giving up a few shots here and t...here before giving up a handful plus going down 17 to 30. Watervale managed to adapt to the conditions better than Han us. Div 2 took on Saddleworth Blue at home. Mansell took on Schoenberg in what was a good battle for most of the game before giving up 10 shots in 3ends going down 18 to 25. Freeman took on Catford and was in control for the majority of the game although a few loose end towards the end saw the gap narrow winning 22 to 16. Lumpys rink took on Hodge and with 2 fill one managed to take control early and run out comfortable winners 29 to 10. It was very difficult conditions on the day with winds getting up over 60kms per hour. See more

21.01.2022 November 16, 4pm MEDIA RELEASE: All bowls activity cease play Following the announcement from the State Government this afternoon, all lawn bowls activity will cease immediately in South Australia until further notice.... This is part of the restriction which will see all competitive sport and training (indoor and outdoor) cancelled for the next two weeks as of midnight tonight. Bowls SA is currently working with the State Government to help get a handle on the situation. We will provide more information to Bowls SA member associations, clubs, players and stakeholders as it comes to hand. Until that time, we urge all South Australians to follow all the guidelines and restrictions announced by the State Government this afternoon to help contain the situation. See more

18.01.2022 ScareCROW ON DUTY Mid-North town Laura’s bowling green is well known for its quality surface during the summer months in the North Western Bowls Association.... Well in the last couple of months its protection of the green from damaging numbers of birds has turned a few heads. Green curator Ben Hopgood said the currently un-named beauty is a cheap form of protection - she doesn’t eat or drink very much during the day and certainly doesn’t cause any trouble at all, and they are open to suggestions for a name. We tried to interview the new addition to the community but she declined to comment. What do you think a good name for the well-dressed beauty would be?

18.01.2022 Sunday saw the Club host our SUPER BOWL. This is based on the BPL style format with 2 bowl triples with 2 sets of 5 ends. All team's played 4 games 2 before lunch. Lunch was served roast lamb and veg followed by self saucing pudding. The next game was played, then the bowl for cash was done. This is bowling diagonally across the green to the jack with the best 2 bowls receiving the cash. Then onto the last game with 5 team's in the running for the day. A light afternoon te...a was had while the meat tray was drawn followed by the raffle. Now for the important part the winners. Winning all 4 games the Jones boys (Angaston)90 points runner up was Blyth with Lamo and 3 ROBBY ring in he will look good in green next year on 70 and third went to the team from Auburn 67. There is always a team who may not have a good day and this year it went to Booborrowie. These days are not possible with out the Support of sponsors. The club has COVID QR CHECK IN SHEETS on every table and sheets for those who may be technically challenged. These are at the front gate and green side doors. This is so everyone can keep the social distancing throughout their arrival. Thanks for your co-operation and good bowling.

16.01.2022 Update Div1 Home first up to Blyth did not go to plan with Blyth taking the points. The green was heavy after unseasonal rain and they adapted to the green better than us. Blyth 68 Robby 53. Greg 21 Lamond 21 Roger 21 Philp 19... Jordan 12 Wandel 28 Round 2 take on Clare Blue at Clare. This week they struggled with the quick green when all others were playing on rain affected greens slowing them down. Clare 86 Robby 63 Jordan 26 Kylie 26 Greg 24 Quicie 26 Roger 13 Rooke 34 Round 3 at home to the top team Mintaro. Green still heavy with the weekly rain but it was a tight match. 13.01.2022 Saturday saw a little bit disappointing after Div 1 travelled to Booborrowieto take on Clare Gold. On the very slick green in strong windy conditions it was tough. Jordan's rink took on Browny and went down by 10 with the Clare rink being aggressive and taking many shot bowls out throughout the arvo. Greg took on Sommerville in a ding ding battle all arvo finally going down by 3 shots. Barry's rink took on K Days rink and had a good arvo nearly getting the team over the line .... Well played ROBBY. This is such a good result for a small club to keep stepping up and taking on these challenges presented to us. GOOD LUCK TO our Div 3 team taking on Hallet next week at Burra. 11.01.2022 Not a good start to the finals week. The Thursday team team taking on Watervale at Auburn were simply out played on the day. Div 1 took on Mintaro at Auburn today and having JR KOTZ GO DOWN 32 to 19 and Big Baz going down by a few it was left to Senior Kotz to bring home the CHOCOLATES WITH A BIG WIN 38 to 9. So they take on Clare Gold next week. Div 3 took on Hallet at Burra in beautiful conditions for bowls. After a good start Lumpy team let them get away to a 15 to 5lead j...ust after the break before pegging them back to lose 19 to 14. Fabulous Phil with the old boys got of to a slow start and were 10 to 1 down after 3 ends. They then started to get on top picking up a 5 going into the break. From that they took control to win 28 to 15. Congratulations to both teams and good luck for the rest of the finals. See more

08.01.2022 Friday saw the first rd of the Kapunda winter tournament and we took on Freeling in both men and women. The girls had Margaret from eudunda fill in as the lead with Karen Jo And Polly as skip. All played well to take the chocolates 23 to 10. The boys were well led by David M with David N Lumpy and Big bad Barry as skip. Off to a flyer taking 3 on the first end and then not winning for a while going 3 to 11 down before fighting back to level the score. With only a few ends left we took the lead, 2 shots up coming into the last with Freeling holding 1 shot with Turtle to have the last of the day and he did enough to pick up the second shot to draw. A great day thanks to both teams and of course Kapunda for hosting the competition.

05.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the lockdown the club will be closed and will not be hosting teas on the 28th of November. Thanks and please remain safe.

04.01.2022 The club held a working bee yesterday with the usual helpers in attendance. The ladies washed the windows and cleaned off the cob webs while the gents repaired the shade put up score boards and put up the shade cloth . We have a few coming to mark green as the precipitation made this task a little difficult. Not that we are complaining as it has done wonders to the playing surface.

03.01.2022 Thursday's team team travelled up to Booborowie in overcast and drizzle conditions. The match was played with some drizzle throughout just to make the normally quick green a little heavy without the finish on the bowls. Wendy's rink got off to a good start with David finding the mark early, this made it easier for the others to find their range as well. Boob made a come back and closed the gap to 2 before the greens were able to pull away and win 21 to 12. Lyn's rink were quite the opposite getting off to a slow start being 11 to 1 down. Don't know what happened but they started to find the range and started to close the gap , eventually going down 13 to 20. The come back enabled the team to secure the points in a close game.

03.01.2022 A big thank you to my boss Graham at Weedtech for allowing me to use his coring machine today. The green came up a great with a few helpers to clean up the green and a few other jobs for the end of the season. This has saved the club a considerable amount of money, especially in the current environment. If any other clubs are interested please contact Graham at Weedtech or myself for more details. Thanks to all those who helped and abided by the social distancing laws pity the flies didn't do the same. Thanks Lumpy.

03.01.2022 Today both teams at home Div 1 taking on Clare Gold and Div 2 taking on Booborowie. Div 1 Greg took on Meyers and seemed to be in control from the start having a good win with everyone contributing throughout the day score 28 to 13. Rogers rink took on Sommerville and were a little slow starting and once they started to find some rythym and pegged the he score back going down 18 to 23. Jordan took on Mike In what was a battle all day before picking up a 4 with only a few ends... to go opening up a good gap 27 to 22 getting Robby over the line with 10 points. Div 2 David M took on Coad and after a horror start with many of his team's bowls being on the bank it wasn't looking good. After a few words of encouragement they started to g l and get things rolling on the score board. Getting back in to the game they suddenly picked up 17 shots in 4 ends to take the lead and take the win 29 24. Lumpys rink took on Shattock and started well and were able to maintain the momentum for the rest of the game with Me ke and Derek bowling well eventually winning 26 14. Freeman's rink struggled early with h his players getting the green and weight right. Then bang they all found the right green and weight to get back into the the game falling just short 15 17 against Ian Walker. See more

03.01.2022 Hi all on Sunday the club hosted its first Monthly lunches day. The club served up Potato and Bacon soup followed by Spaghetti Bolognese with salad and garlic bread. The club was happy with about 25 people turning up to have a feed which was enjoyed by all. The next luncheon will be held on the last Sunday in July and will be a roast look forward to seeing you all there. A special thanks to all on the catering committee for a great first up effort.

02.01.2022 Busy week end at club getting ready for our up coming season and events. Cored edges fertilized water in back tomorrow to put more Chem out and roll. Green starting to look good.

01.01.2022 Thursday saw bowls resume and we headed over to take on Saddleworth Blue on a wonderful green . Wendy took on Shepard in what was a tight battle all day with no more than a shot or two difference for the 20 ends. It was funny to see the leads struggle to get the kitty on the rink. Wendy finished up 13 to 11. Lyns rink took on the Huppatz rink and after a swap of shots for the first half of the game were able to pick up a few ends in a row . The final score being 20 to 12.
