21.01.2022 Export markets squared up a bit this week after last weeks high . Only a slight variation though . No one would be complaining about what they are recieving at the moment . Farrell Mccrohon Stock and Station Agents Grafton sold frisian billocks on behalf of a client of ours out of the Bellingen Valley between $1900 and $2000 .. what a price ..you can imagine there are some very happy Bellingen people this morning .. young weaner types are being hit again as prices for them fall very hard after the big rain hype..

20.01.2022 Kempsey Stock and Land Steer and Heifer ale Today was sold . Heifers made to 2.40 cpk and Steers made thats easy. Se were able to purchase a b double for Landmark Shepparton and these weaner calves for a backgrounder at Bucca Creek which will be grown to 480 kg liveweight and to to Morat and Co Feedlot .. a great day....

19.01.2022 Hi all had trouble with phones an fb . What a lot has happened in the last few months .the main thing is at the moment is to keep up the minerals in your cattle. As grass is short you still need to keep the best of lick blocks or dry lick up to keep cattle mineral levels right . This will help them get through this dry spell . Have a good week all . Robbo

18.01.2022 Grafton Saleyards was also hot this week .. Again Weaners reached $6.60 ... thank goodness I’m going back in to retirement . We were able to purchase for local and southern clients around 140 steers at yesterday’s Grafton Store Sale .. Some Very Good Steers on Offer indeed ... with the storms rolling in it’s just the start of the season so who no’s where this will end with Macksville and Grafton breaking new Records for price . 17.01.2022 Well you could see it coming . With tbe rain been and gone the weaners got worse as the week went on . Most centers that had weaner sales this week strugled to make much leeway .. some reports seen weaner heifers with bredding go as low as $1.20 cpk ... be careful selling next week as there are 2 short weeks coming up . Its always a problem around easter trying to get cattle killed . Especially while its dry .. take care over easter and enjoy the break . Thanks Robbo ..

17.01.2022 Some exciting news coming through that Victoria may be getting a big rain fall accross the state over thr next couple of days .. up to 60 mm in places .. what does this do for us you say ?? 2 yeary ago we were buying all the coastle weaners snd sending them south as they buy very large numbers of them . That year we sent 8.5 millon dollars worth of xmcalves of the coastle strip . The last year we wouldnt have sent 1 million dollars worth . Remember when weaners were making $5 plus . Just hope it comes through .

Kempsey is Running a sale on tuesday as well as a Weaner Sale on Friday with 1800 weaners booked in again ..Asthe weaner rates have plumeted again with the short weeks it will be interesting to see how this week pans out .. we have some pretty good Feeder Rates to offer and also An ANGUS Feeder job as well .. . 11.01.2022 Hi all . With the fires smashing out across the 2states , nsw and qld . I can only think to myself how bad this is for farmers who are already struggling . Where does this actually stop . This is the 3rd year straight we have had dry times . Most places inland have had this crap for up to 9 yrs . Farmers are tough people. They would have to be in a time now where some vealers of cows are only selling for a couple of hundred dollars a head . Some useless info for you is that t...he last weeks total slaughter numbers for cattle was 149,888 head . Up 1%.. as soon as the rain finally come who knows how many the kill will be . They wont be able to keep that up .. the eastern young cattle indercator (eyci) is sitting at a 485.25 at the end of the last week ..lets hope something happens out of the rain at the end of this week . Wingham Beef heavy cows $4.80 Cpk .. heres the best Teys Beenleigh heavy cows over 300 kg dressed ..$5 per kg and the same for bulls .you think this is dear . You havent seen anything yet . 02.01.2022 I told you last week of the export sector going to get better . Word is America is dry and short on beef . This in turn has driven the trim job up by 50 cents on one hit . Good news for cows to be sold . Everyone is watching the weather coming through at the end of this week . Some hope for western and northern farmers . Its still a way off and we can only hope it dont die out befor it gets to them . Kempsey store sale this Saturday with over 140 cows and calves already booked .. Feeder steers have jumped to 2.90 cpk ansd all other cattle have also enjoyed good pricing .. . New needs a good drink in the very near future to secure a good return . Lambs at Guyra yesterday were 30 dollars accross the board dearer .. ..nsw weaner sales are in full swing with a large amount of weaners heading to victoria and tasmania.. thousonds and thousonds have made this journy so far and tbere will be more to go next week ide say ...
