25.01.2022 Hot Day response has been activated for District 18, This means that there is a high risk that any fires could rapidly become significant and threaten lives and property. Please report any smoke sightings. Volunteers would rather turn out to something insignificant than turn up too late to save someones property.... Hot day response - is a level of readiness for brigades and resources for high fire risk days. Today, Sat, 28 Nov 2020 Today, Sat, 28 Nov 2020 has been declared a day of Total Fire Ban in the Mallee, Wimmera and Northern Country district(s) of Victoria. No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01 AM on Sat, 28 Nov 2020 until 11:59 PM Sat, 28 Nov 2020.

24.01.2022 Today, we remember the men and women who selflessly gave their lives serving for our country, as well as those who returned and continue to serve their communities. Lest we forget.

24.01.2022 How great is this story !!! Fire prevention is such an important step in helping us help you Do you have a neighbour or friend that might need a hand but they would never ask or you think just need a helping hand ???... My neighbor is a nurse, we don't talk much because our work schedules are so hectic, yesterday I noticed she looked really tired, she came home and left within the hour. I went to mow my grass and seen her grass was high so I mowed hers as well. This morning I seen this. Source: Reddit/genesislaw1

15.01.2022 Understanding Warnings and Emergency Information You should never wait to receive an official warning before you leave. Fires can start quickly and threaten homes and lives within minutes. Understand the levels of warnings and don’t expect warnings to be issues in any particular order. The first warning you could get could be an Emergency Warning.... https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrict/about-warnings

14.01.2022 Fire Prevention is still super important especially after the extra rain Can you see an elderly neighbour or a neighbour who could do with your help!!! Maybe it’s a neighbour that isn’t elderly but don’t have the appropriate equipment and need extra helping hand and haven’t asked ?? ... Make sure all grass is low!!! 200mm is a great height and remains that way for the fire season, clear away rubbish that might need cleaning up now! and ensure things are not stacked close to your home! Your brigade has been preparing to respond to your area and training hard help them help you

09.01.2022 Where do I find out what out fire danger rating is???? I get asked this all the time Here it is ! It’s super important to know where to find it especially if you have a permit for events !!... Fire Danger Ratings are forecast for four days and a Total Fire Ban is declared by CFA on days when fires are likely to spread rapidly and could be difficult to control. If a district has not been declared a Total Fire Ban, fire restrictions may still apply for each municipality. https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warn/total-fire-bans-and-ratings

03.01.2022 Grass Fires start quickly and move super fast !!! It’s your responsibility to keep your family safe and your neighbours !! Help a neighbour out if they are not aware, Community hand in hand ... By reducing the grass and other fine fuels around your buildings and other assets you can create a defendable space - a space which limits the ability of a moving grassfire to ignite a building through direct flame contact or radiant heat. It's important that you create and maintain a defendable space around all the assets you want to protect. It's too late to begin spraying and slashing as the fire approaches. You must prepare before the fire season. Helping us! help you ! A community that works together stays together https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/grassfires-rural
