21.01.2022 Italian week So devastating we couldn’t have parents and families at kinder today.. but we saw both 4 year old classes step up today and showed us their skills! The Nonni would be so PROUD!! Following hygiene practices today we: -Chopped tomoatoes and made the sauce... -made different types of fresh pasta using rolling pins, pasta machines, cutters and scissors (note: we did not taste test, it was just for learning) We then joined both rooms to use our Commbox: -and watched the Tarantella before dancing to it ourselves - we also watched a snippet of bocci and played a game and cheered each other on -we also learnt numbers in Italian! What a day!! Buonanotte!

18.01.2022 Acrylic Board Orders 2020 This year we have a fabulous opportunity where we can personalize acrylic Name Trace and Wipe Boards that your child can use to pra...ctise writing the letters in their name over and over again. Simply draw over, wipe off and start again. As all boards will be personalised locally, you may also choose to include, shapes, the full alphabet or even numbers. These boards use the Victorian school handwriting font. All you need to use is a white board or chalk marker, then wipe clean with a wet wipe to start again. All boards will be handmade made using Clear Acrylic. 16.01.2022 Welcome to science week!!! Last week the children explored colour mixing of solutions learing primary colours and what they make. This week we are exploring all things science with the children getting hands on exploring things like reactions and investigations. We aim to build the childrens skills, vacabularies, knolledge. And inspire them to explore things on a whole new level the last two days we have explored oil and water using words like saturated solution and denceness of liquids making lava lamps. Today the children explored cause and effect of lemons and bicarb soda creating little lemon volcano's learning words like extract, reaction and mixing. The children loved being in control of this experiment and the learning that happened.

15.01.2022 WOW! LOOK AT THIS BRILLIANT IDEA! Taking expressions of interest for Preschool acrylic boards A personalised acrylic board with either shapes, numbers or a child’s name. Your child can trace on with whiteboard marker again and again.... Names printed in Victorian cursive writing which will match what your child will learn at school. We are looking for expressions of interest. Is this something that interests you or your family. Should we set-up a fundraiser for these boards? Not only will this help raise funds for the preschool, this will also support a local business. The boards will be $25 each. PLEASE comment below. 15.01.2022 Last week the children came dressed as their fathers over a couple of days, many of the children worked hard to build a trench and construct a dam where all the water ended up. Shovels were used to dig the trench which were then filled with water making muddy puddles, Cannon Ball’ jumping was performed splashing mud EVERYWHERE, and most importantly, the children laughed, laughed and laughed! What amazing, messy fun had by all.

12.01.2022 The elf was up to no good again last night, but the children enjoyed baging their reindeer food ready for Christmas.

11.01.2022 As an extention of our messy artists last week we added messy painting to the room. Boy this was a hit today with the children enjoying exploring mixing the colours red and blue and discovering purple but also the sensory play the cold sticky p ain't offered with the children building both their confidence and vocabularies as they dsclared the activity fun and squishy as they smudged the paint around. Sensory exploration is a great way for children to relax and defuse when feeling stressed .

09.01.2022 Well we had some great balance, co-ordination and core strength play today with our new stepping stones. Join that together with our students supporting each other as they explored their comforts zones and took some amazing risks. I was so impressed at the way the children cheered each other on and helped each other up when things did not go quite right. Great job kids a wonderful day.

09.01.2022 Some great seed art today again and a wonderful discussion in group time about what grows at our house with students telling us that they grow grapes, flowers, watermelons, strawberries, almonds and trees. What great language extensions these conversations have as well as building the childrens confidence, belonging and hand raising to contribute to conversations. As we match towards becoming school ready.

04.01.2022 As you can imagine it can be hard to get pictures of all the children all the time but I have been able to add one of the only two missed this year here along with a group picture of today's children that was requested by the sentinel.

04.01.2022 Landed and Archer have been keeping a close eye on our seed growth, and the difference between the seeds that were started inside and the ones outside i was impressed when I asked the question as to why one lot were short and leafy and one were tall and not so leafy and the boys informed me they were reaching for the sun. 01.01.2022 And what a way to finish the day, with the creation of a water slide. Jovan explained to me it was to cool the slide down. However Mia and Miricle soon discovered that it also gave them a wet but. The children enjoyed exploring the best way to get the water on the slide and go before it was gone, it wS soon discovered through investigation that the best effect was gained by sitting the bucket between your legs and pouring as you slide. Greay work everbody what a way to cool off.
