25.01.2022 The LNP has welcomed today's news that the Federal Morrison Government will back a range of job-creating infrastructure projects including the second M1. Labor has put the brakes on the Second M1 and it has attacked our plan for a four-lane Bruce Highway. What we do know is when Queensland is building, Queensland is working.... But under Labor, infrastructure spending has been cut by $12 billion and our state has stopped building. Only an LNP Government will work with the Federal Government to get Queensland working again, bring these projects online, creating jobs and getting the economy moving ! #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

23.01.2022 Good morning Queensland! We have just 20 days until the next election. That’s 20 days until Queenslanders can change the government. ... More jobs and business opportunities Tackling law and order Addressing cost of living Future proofing local schools Investing in our local community It’s time to change the government. Let’s Get QLD working again ! October 31 #Deb2020 #getqldworkingagain

23.01.2022 An LNP Government will slash taxes and drive a Build-to-Rent boom across Queensland. Not only with there be no new taxes; and, no increase in taxes under the LNP. But we will reduce Land Tax by 75%!... Our plan will secure $2 billion worth of investment, create 4600 construction jobs and 4,000 new homes over the next ten years. When QLD is building, QLD is working #Jobs #Business #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

21.01.2022 I’m fighting for the Keebra Park State High School Centre of Excellence project. It’s well known the prowess that this school has produced on the sporting field, particularly in the football codes. Names like Arrow, Brimson, Marshall, Norman come to mind just to name a few. But the list is really endless. The school has bold plans to build a Centre of Excellence to further expand its offering as a leader in all talent fields into the future, sports, arts , music and ot...her extra curricular activity. As one of the first students of Keebra back in the day, I am passionate about this schools place in our local community. I was back at the school last week hearing about the plans from Principal, Adam Brandis. He is doing a great job and I was pleased to hear that enrolments are back up to 900 students again! I am backing this project that requires support from all levels of government. But we need your help. Let’s get behind this great project for our local area! We need an LNP Government to be elected on October 31 to do it. #Keebra #sports #excellence #sensationalsouthport #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

21.01.2022 An LNP elected government will invest over $1.3 billion in more nurses, paramedics, doctors and allied health professionals across Queensland. Our investment in frontline health workers will improve patient care, ease the pressure on our hospitals and create more jobs. Only the LNP will build a stronger economy to ensure we can provide better health services across all of Queensland. ... More jobs and business opportunity to drag us out of this recession. #Deb2020 #getqldmovingagain

20.01.2022 The Men of Business held its inaugural Graduation this week, after completing what was a spectacular first year as a new School on the gold coast. Jackson from my office attended on my behalf due to Parliament sitting in Brisbane. I just want to remind people of what is a truly remarkable timeline of events that has seen MOB grow into what it is today ... 1 November 2018 The school was first mooted 2 MOB needed to raise over 800K to make it happen 3June 2019 Their license was granted and they needed to bring a space, teachers, staff and students together by April 2020 4 March 2020 COVID-19 struck Australia, but they persisted with the opening 5 Since then, 90 young men have benefited from a great first year I am so impressed with how the school balances core education, with life skills and training, sport and extracurricular activities that are equally relevant, fun and social for these boys. Having seen many at the start of their journey, its great to see what has already been achieved in one short year A massive shout out to Marco and Jason on what they have created and to the many benefactors, teachers, mentors and other supporters that bought into the vision and that have made year 1 such a success. Looking forward to what 2021 hold for MOB ! #SesnationalSouthport

20.01.2022 Only the LNP has a track record, and a plan, when it comes to helping deal with the cost of living. #RegoRebate #getqldworkingagain #deb2020

18.01.2022 Great to get back down to the Netball Centre this week and get a few tips from Marian on my form Established in 1975 as Keebra Park Netball Club. The name changed to Southport Carrara Netball Association back in 1993. An impressive history producing many players who have gone on to reach great heights in Queensland, and right across the country.... Like all of our sporting groups, SCNA is managed by a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers. It’s been a tough year for these clubs and associations who are largely funded by participants dues and fundraising efforts. One thing I really like about the SCNA model is that it runs competitions for the whole community. Juniors, seniors, females, males and mixed-play are all part of the Associations netball programme. As announced, I will be getting behind the associations push for major works to secure their future! We also need your support! 17.01.2022 Sporting facilities are the backbone of our local community and Surfers Paradise Demons are no exception. That’s why, if elected on October 31, the LNP and I are proud to commit to supporting Urgent Roofing Upgrades at the Demons which have reached emergency levels. It hasn’t been an easy season for our sporting clubs and community groups. They are not immune to the pandemic, and the abrupt halt to play this season has had a devastating effect on operations.... Fortunately the Demons with the support of great personnel and volunteers have been able to rally and get through Season 2020, with some great results on the field. I am also fighting for major works at the site to provide female friendly changerooms and facilities and major clubhouse works to maximize the site in conjunction with others user groups, including Cricket and Bowls. A shout to the club for fundraising to achieve recent internal works in the current building to support functions and events. Thanks to Katrina Pridmore for showing me through the site again last week and well done to the Demons and those in the community that support the club. #SensationalSouthport #Deb2020

17.01.2022 Congratulations to the September winners at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards - in particular: One Global Logistics NTS Group Pty Ltd Powertec Telecommunications ... Tough Trucks All great businesses based out of the Southport electorate. Great to see these guys doing well coming through a very difficult period for all SMEs. Only an LNP elected government in October will ensure an environment where the economy can grow and we can drag Queensland out of this recession! #SensationalSouthport

17.01.2022 Queensland has the worst unemployment rate in the nation with even locked-down Victoria having a lower jobless rate. Labor have no plan and no Budget. Only the LNP has plan to create 150,000 jobs and lead Queensland out of recession.... #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

11.01.2022 The LNP has already said there will be no new taxes to boost business investment and create jobs. And now we can do one better and announce that we will scrap Labor’s Grey Nomad Tax in our first Budget. The Grey Nomad Tax is a tax on Queenslanders enjoying their retirement.... Our plan will save on average $2,300 on the purchase of a new campervan and motorhome in Queensland. This means more drive tourism, more campervan sales and more local manufacturing jobs as well. #costofliving #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

09.01.2022 The old TAFE site is gone! Now ready for community re-purposing. So pleased we’ve been able to save the old Ridgeway TAFE site from development. Well done Judith deBoer and friends. A fight worth having. ... Now to the future! Men’s Shed? U3A? Community Hall? More to come. #sensationalsouthport

08.01.2022 Southport Carrara Netball Association are looking to future proof their successful operations and ensure they continue to meet the needs of literally hundreds of female and male participants right across the gold coast, from their base here in Southport. Unfortunately the courts at this facility are failing to meet the minimum standards, and the association has been looking at a range of options for the future, including a reconfiguration of courts, resurfacing, new modern ...lighting, and improved amenity provision. They have also been in conversations with Council and the adjacent primary school about community-use opportunities down the track to maximize their footprint. I meet with Association President, Marian Chester again recently and informed her that if successful at the state election, the LNP and I will be supporting the association to the tune of $200,000 to support these important works. We need your help to bring this all together. October 31 #sensationalsouthport #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

07.01.2022 Despite reports regarding policing investment, Labor has actually overseen a net decrease in spending levels since coming to office. Government funding for Queensland’s police service has decreased as a share of total public service spending since Labor came to power in 2015. Only after months and months of urging from the LNP, did Labor finally show up with a policing announcement it was a few weeks ago, ahead of the state election. ... The LNP is always tougher on crime, firmer on sentencing, and serious about law and order. I know we need at least 50 extra police in Southport right now, something the Labor party might have considered when they added thousands of public servants to the roster in Brisbane in the last 12months? Crime is out of control and robbery is up 42% under the Palaszczuk Labor Government on the Gold Coast. Everyone in the community has a right to feel safe in their home and on the streets. The LNP will ensure that police have the resources they need to keep the community safe, including extra police officers on the northern Gold Coast, tougher new laws to tackle constant reoffending and escalating youth crime. Stronger action on hooning and on anti-social behaviour. Don’t be fooled. Only the LNP is tough on crime. #getqldworkingagain #Deb2020

07.01.2022 International Education is a huge contributor to the Queensland economy, injecting $1.9 billion each year and supporting 27,000 jobs. The industry has been decimated recently due to Covid-19 and the closures of international and domestic borders. There are close to 200 providers of international education across the Gold Coast, in addition to TAFE and Uni obviously, that provides for over 35,000 students. Many of whom form our causal Labor workforce while they are on t...he coast. Something else that has suffered greatly due to the pandemic. With the help of Study Gold Coast I brought industry stakeholders together this week for a forum with our Shadow Minister for Education, Jarrod Bleijie MP to look at possible solutions to this problem leading up to and after the election. I also provided an introduction for QLD Senator, Senator Gerard Rennick to Study Gold Coast this week to discuss related issues from a federal perspective. As case numbers start to come back under control, and restrictions begin to ease, it’s a critical sector we have to get back online quickly that underpins our economy, jobs, business, and our diverse community more generally. #Deb2020 #getqldworkingagain

06.01.2022 What a debacle. Temperatures approaching mid-30s in our schools as we head into summer, and the new air conditioning promised by the Labor government still sitting idle, non-responsive. The government have said that the new systems may now not be able to be turned on until February 2021, for fear of overloading the system? I think that should’ve been checked out before the $477m program began? The government announced the plan for cooler schools back in March of th...is year, so I would’ve hoped the policy had considered these aspects well before now. This was also one of the governments key election statements and it seems like it was all hot air. Hopefully we can get this sorted before our kids and teachers swelter even further this summer.

06.01.2022 It was a pleasure to attend the launch of Paradise Gin on Monday night on the gold coast. 01.01.2022 It’s Time. The State Election has just been called. The decisions made by the next government will determine if Queensland recovers from this economic crisis.
