25.01.2022 SPRINGVALE BOTANICAL CEMETERY & BUNURONG MEMORIAL PARK Funeral gatherings in the outdoors From tomorrow, Tuesday 10 November at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and from Wednesday 11 November at Bunurong Memorial Park, our client families will have the option of hosting functions outdoors, by booking one of our new marquees. We will have two marquees available at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and one at Bunurong Memorial Park, which in line with the current COVID-19 restriction...s will allow for up to 50 people plus funeral directors and support personnel. We will, of course, also continue to offer indoor functions, for up to 20 people. In assisting families to find the right approach for their needs and circumstances, we recommend helping them choose from one of the following options: Indoor event for up to 20 people: Indoor funeral service for 20 people, followed by an indoor function for the same group of 20 people. Outdoor event for up to 50 people: Graveside service for 50 people, followed by an outdoor function for 50 people in a marquee. Alternative option: Intimate indoor funeral service for up to 20 people (in a chapel or reflection space) followed by a graveside service or an outdoor marquee function (total of 50 people). In evaluating all options, please note that due to government restrictions, we are unable to exceed gathering maximums of 20 people indoors, and 50 people outdoors and cannot extend this number by booking multiple marquees or indoor function rooms. Please also note that strict record-keeping regulations still apply.

20.01.2022 We all know about coffins made of timber, but have you heard about cardboard coffins? They've become more and more popular in Australia but how do they look like and how are they made? Take a look at the process in the following video.

19.01.2022 As a funeral director you never stop learning and some of the most valuable life lessons come from our clients. As I began to talk and I started to learn a little about my client's mum, she described how her mother had always been full of fun and laughter and these are the memories she would carry with her, not the sad ones. 18.01.2022 Let's start the week more peacefully with this 1-minute video to relax and to remember people who have moved on.

15.01.2022 Before being placed in the coffin, the corpse is seated on a death chair, bound with leaves and vines, then covered with a blanket. The body is smoked to prevent decomposition, allowing relatives to pay their respects over several days.

15.01.2022 These holidays can be hard for some but it can also be a lovely opportunity to share stories, light up a candle or hold a toast.

12.01.2022 Many families are choosing to have funeral services in non traditional settings, this allows families the choice of beautiful unique settings and catering options across Melebourne and the Mornington Peninsula, today we are fortunate to be at Windmill Gardens, Melton

08.01.2022 How the ceremony unfolds is up to the lama’s discretion, but they’re the only one allowed to touch the body. They pray, place blue stones in the bed of the body, and a white veil is placed over the face to prevent evil spirits from penetrating.

08.01.2022 We try our best to offer the care, compassion and professionalism you need at this time and are grateful to have been able to assist you.

06.01.2022 Much like traditional funeral processions today, the Romans used to hold processions to honour their dead. The larger and noisier the procession, the wealthier or more important the deceased would be. For this reason, professional mourners were sometimes hired to ensure that the procession was as large and noisy as possible.
