25.01.2022 Congratulations to Robogals Kagoshima (Japan) for receiving the Encouragement Award at the Nissan Foundation Rikajo Awards! The Chapter was awarded for endeavouring to increase the number of girls in science who aim to become engineers. Robogals Kagoshima loves teaching students about moving the Lego robots and "letting them know how wonderful it is!"... They also love "helping them solve the problems they encounter during the workshop." The Chapter was formed in 2017 and currently works with 17 first to fifth grade students and 17 major students. They hold lectures throughout the year on topics such as robot programming experience. Congratulations again to Robogals Kagoshima for this amazing achievement!
22.01.2022 Hi! We are Robogals Brisbane and we are delighted to be featured in the Chapter of Robogals Series! Robogals Brisbane was established in the year 2009 at the The University of Queensland (UQ) and was originally called ‘Robogals UQ’. But, in the hopes of creating a Brisbane wide chapter, the organisation was expanded to include volunteers from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and in 2018 we officially changed our name to Robogals Brisbane We’ve loved organising and... running impactful initiatives, some of the most significant being Girls in Robotics day, the STEMConnect mentorship program, Arduino workshops and teacher workshops. We have also made some amazing memories being part of events in Brisbane including Word Science Festival, Robocup, Ekka and Robotronica! Fun fact: in 2017 we were featured on two shows - Scope and Toasted TV (links are on our Facebook page)! We are always looking to create a fun and inclusive community for our volunteers. Our calendar typically includes coffee catchups, games nights, study sessions, trivia nights and for those who enjoy a good challenge - hackathons. Closer to the end of the year we have our annual Industry Gala, a networking event at which our volunteers get to meet our partners and celebrate all their hard work! Within the past 11 years, Robogals Brisbane has conducted 767 workshops and inspired over 118000 students and we are super excited to spread the beautiful message of diversity to all of Queensland for many many more years to come ! Check out our website for workshop info, resources for students/teachers interested in STEM and more: https://robogalsbrisbane.org/
22.01.2022 It was a bright and sunny day in 2014 when Robogals Monash was born at Monash University. Our university is lively and welcoming, full of culturally diverse and hard working people with innovative ideas. Since then we have come a long way and now have 400 amazing volunteers who are passionate about Engineering and promoting gender diversity in STEM. From 2018-2019 we reached out to around 4000 school kids through our EV3 Lego workshops. So a little about Melbourne! Melbourn...e is known for many attractions such as its famous street art hot spot, Hosier Lane. Oh! We can’t forget the amazing variety of cuisines, coffees, brunches and awesome food. You can’t visit Melbourne and not experience a Melbounian flat white! At Robogals Monash, we are proud to have achieved many of our envisioned goals. Over the past two years, we expanded our division from 8 executive members to 40 members. In 2019, we also won the biggest impact award at SINE. At the start of January this year, we held Engage Engineer, a two-day event for high-school students where we introduced them to the various STEM fields, particularly engineering at Monash University. Currently, we are adapting to the current pandemic by hosting online workshops, networking events and social activities. Our programs team has developed some innovative workshops to teach school students and we catch up with our volunteers regularly through zoom social nights. Check them out here: https://www.robogalsvic.org/monash Here’s to more fun-filled and rewarding years!

12.01.2022 Chapters of Robogals Robogals CDO Introducing our Cagayan de Oro (CDO) Chapter! CDO is an emerging city in the Philippines and is the gateway to northern Mindanao. The Chapter was founded in 2014 and is known for its friendly volunteers and dedication to running workshops for local schools. Robogals CDO participates in an annual 'Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caravan' event. As a partner of DOST, the Chapter is invited to give free robotics workshops to stu...dents ranging from elementary to secondary level. Students from a diverse range of schools are split into small groups of five to six and assigned a robot. The Robogals CDO Executive team are responsible for conducting the workshops, tasking the students to assemble the mBots as well as dissembling the robots before the end of the day. Quite often, young students may not have had the access to the robotics technology and knowledge. The Chapters' involvement with the event helps envision their goal toward inclusivity and empowering young people by encouraging them to engage in STEM. Photo Credit: Project LUPAD
10.01.2022 Hi there! We are Robogals Auckland! We are a humble chapter that started in 2015 at The University of Auckland and are currently the only chapter in New Zealand. We believe that our club is an awesome platform for our volunteers to share their passion for STEM with the next generation and to bond over our similar interests. We have held a few exciting events over the years for our volunteers such as a Build Your Own Workshop event, a Games Night via Zoom and, to allow our ...volunteers to gain workplace insights, we also invited our Chapter’s alumni back for a panel event. This year, our workshop focuses on the environmental impacts on rivers and streams in New Zealand, a topic that many Kiwis are passionate about. Our activity is called ‘Wa-ter We Going To Do!’ (do you get the pun ;) ). The kids are tasked with the job of collecting toxic bacteria from the Waikato River whilst avoiding rocks and fish with EV3 MindStorm Robots! So far we have held 52 workshops (and counting!). We are super grateful to partner with our fellow volunteers and the community to continue inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers!
