21.01.2022 I've been busy painting commissions lately so haven't posted anything for a while. This one has been on the go for months now. Had a little break in the middle of it. . I think I'm done with it now though. Its 40"x30" canvas in acrylic. I loved the tiny reflections of the skybin the water in the water. 20.01.2022 I've been working on this tiger for a couple of weeks now and finally. It's 70cmx50cm and done in charcoal pencils on Fabriano Accademia paper. Trying to master working on white paper as I've only ever worked on a greytone paper. This ismy fourth drawing on white. Gradually getting the hang of it . Reference photo is by Ken Taylor. I am usually there most days between 11 and 2.pm . Pm and I can put a hold on it for you. They are all framed with the exception of one which i will comment on under it. There are also calendars available for $15 , cards are $3 each or 4 for $10. Prints are $25 each or 3 for $60. 15.01.2022 I haven't posted anything for a while as I've been busy with Christmas commissions . Now Christmas has passed i can start to share a few with you. . I love meeting or chatting with the clients and hearing a bit about the personality of these much loved family members. Some are still with them, some have crossed the rainbow bridge some are getting old and there is a request to keep their drawing younger looking, but no matter the story or stage in life, it never lessens the love for them by their owners. 12.01.2022 This a is a recent drawing i did i of some cheetah cubs. They were from a litter of 6. Number 6 was out of shot when this photo was taken. They were being protected by rangers who warded of a pack of hyenas. Sadly at last count there were only 2 left alive from this litter which is so sad. But this is why they have so many young in a litter, the attrition rate is so high. With hunting, habitat loss and predators the numbers are declining. Such beautiful magestic cre...atures. Our local Monarto Safari Park here in South Australia supports a cheetah program in Namibia and Tanzania so everytime you visit you entry fee helps support these endangered cats. 07.01.2022 This is a recently finished scratchboard of a pair of cheetahs eyes. I have altered the eyes a little as the original photo has very specific flecks of colour in her eyes and i have given the original version I did of it to the photographer who is a special friend of mine. I like to make each piece of artwork original so these eyes are markedly different to the previous work. Its a 5"x7" scratchboard and is available for sale. It has been selected as one of the top 20 finalists in the Archip...aws Prize run by the Willoughby Council in NSW. Each of the finalist entries have been made into flags and are being hung in the Chatswood CBD until mid October celebrating their Pet Festival . 04.01.2022 Ive been working on a couple of these Himba women for a while now. Just love the rich earthy colours of the skin and hair which are coloured with a paste of butter,fat and red ochre and sometimes scented with aromatic resin. They are native to Namibia in Africa. So far i have drawn 4 Himba people.
