25.01.2022 Hi guys a quick update for Albury August 10-13th. I'm still hoping to be able to make this trip to see patients on the NSW side of the border. Unfortunately due to the current Coronavirus related issues I'm not able to visit Wangaratta as previously planned (or enter Victoria due to issues relating to returning to QLD at the end of the week) It's a week to week proposition at this stage but will keep you updated as information comes to hand. Apologies to my Victorian based cl...ients in terms of property visits. I'm not sure whether you are able to get permits for entry to NSW for veterinary treatment? May be worth checking out options/restrictions locally if you are happy to bring your horse to AWEC or your dog to Petfocus across the border. Thanks, Rob See more

22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I just wanted to update my clients at this time regarding my work and their animals as I've had a number of emails and texts come in. Firstly regarding my next Albury trip (May 4-8th) I'm currently taking bookings for this trip which is approximately half filled. The plan at this stage is to make the visit in early May for animal treatments however depending on what gets classed as essential vs non essential domestic travel there may have to be a date amendment. ...Bookings made will be given first priority for any shift in dates. Secondly PureFlexa. There is no need to be concerned I have an ample supply for the foreseeable future (6-12 months). The only possible interruption to your supply that I can forsee is if Australia Post is locked down along with other freight/logistics services which I gather is highly unlikely. Local medication/supplement supply for the Albury area: This is expected to continue as per normal until such a time that vet clinics are asked to close. We may then be able to do things by Registered Post provided as mentioned above that freight/postal service is allowed to continue. Cairns treatments will continue for the forseeable future through Ulysses Veterinary Clinic until such time that state or national regulations would bring veterinary clinics to a general halt. I'm not sure how likely this is or isn't. The other question that has been asked is regarding Technyflex supply, please contact Liz Fields for this information as it is independent of me. Liz's website is www.comvet.com.au and her contact details are on there. Last but not least I hope you and your families are coping ok at this point in time. It's obviously a very challenging time for us all and I wish everybody the best in navigating their way forward through this period. I'll be doing my best to continue treatments and medication/supplement refills for your animals and will update here if anything else should change. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask however these points seemed to cover the main ones that have come through in the last couple of days. Thanks, Rob

17.01.2022 Feeling very frustrated after several visits to my usual vet and one to another vet to get a second opinion, that there wasn’t anything I could do to help my Irish wolfhound with his severe pain in his neck due to an accident where he came off the Ute at high speed. I thought there has to be someone that specialises in this area. After coming across Rob`s Facebook page I gave him a call, explaining what had happened, Rob was terrific to speak to and more than accommodating ...to my timeline for him to see Wolf. Rob took the time to examine Wolf properly and went to work on treating him. After 1 examination and treatment I could already see the relief in my dogs eyes. After an expected 6 weeks + full recovery period , within 3 weeks he was as good as new . I cannot recommend Rob highly enough to anyone from my experience. Brad Arnold Wolf 3 months post accident

13.01.2022 Thanks to all our Albury/Wodonga & Wangaratta clients. Rob had a great trip down south and is looking forward to visiting the region again in March. We thought we would share a couple of pictures of our patients; Buddy, Ben, Humphrey & Showy . Buddy is one cool dude and came to see Rob for his arthritis. Ben is a beautiful boy who has come in to have his sore joints treated. Humphrey, is a total spunk and visits for his sore back. And last but not least Showy standing tall pre her morning workout. We hope you are feeling better guys!

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Happy new year to you all, I hope that 2020 will be a great year for yourselves and your families. A couple of important updates:... Next Albury visit: January 13th-17th. Limited appointments still remain on Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th if you are in need of having an animal seen or for medication refills. PureFlexa is back in stock. I think most people would now be aware of this but if I've missed anyone that is waiting on a re supply please send me a message 0490 038 208 rather than replying to this thread thanks. I'm now working full time in Cairns and so please leave a message if you would like your call returned and I will return your call as soon as I'm able. Otherwise email is a great way to reach me currently [email protected] Thanks, Rob

11.01.2022 Ares first came to me for help with treating his ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee (stifle). Cruciate ligament rupture is a common cause of sudden onset lameness in dogs in the hindend and can happen over time in both back legs if you are really unlucky. While surgery is the general recommendation for dogs of all sizes for best outcomes, Ares was unable to undergo a sugical repair due to a kidney problem detected on routine blood tests. This was found prior to his ...surgery by his local vet which meant that an anesthetic could be dangerous to his health. Other reasons exist for dogs not being able to undergo sugical repair including other health concerns, access to surgeons and financial barriers. In my experience, dogs under 10-12kg can be successfully rehabilitated without surgery in particular while dogs over this weight tend to have chronic lameness with muscle wastage on the affected leg. Ares is flying the flag for dogs that are above bodyweights thought able to be rehabilitated without surgery and has his owners Mark & Gayle to thank for their dedication to his recovery. With correct management anything is possible and Ares is a testament to this. His successful rehabilitation from the injury has been a combination of hydrotherapy, acupuncture, PEMF and a high quality diet and joint supplement for assistance in return to full function. Interestingly there is new information emerging from studies in the human field showing good outcomes for people that have suffered the same injury (Anterior Cruciate Ligament or ACL) that don`t undergo surgery, again provided correct mangement is undertaken post injury (my sister is a physiotherapist and keeps me updated on this). AFL fans may know Dale Morris from the Western Bulldogs who is one athlete at the elite level who has been able to achieve this twice (each knee) though his most recent comeback resulted in the eventual need for surgical repair. While I still recommend surgery for this injury particularly for medium and larger breeds due to the large number of unsuccessful outcomes without it, for those that are unable to for one reason or another successful outcomes are possible with correct management. Good work Ares and thanks to Gayle and Mark for their permission for me to share their story. Rob

10.01.2022 Meet the beautiful Miss Molly who saw Dr Rob today for her sore leg. Molly is much loved by her owner Piper. Thanks for bringing her along to have her treatment.

06.01.2022 Update on Albury-Wangaratta visits: Hi everyone, I'm tentatively taking bookings for Albury to treat animals from August 10-13th. Updates will be provided as more information comes to hand as to whether this trip can go ahead. It will depend on information available over the next few weeks and state to state regulations on being able to return to QLD. If you would like to make a tentative booking please call me on 0490 038 208 or email [email protected]... The current plan is to see dogs out of Petfocus vet clinic in Lavington and horses at AWEC in Thurgoona during these dates. A Wangaratta day is also planned for Friday August 7th but will again be pending rules and regulations at the time. Thanks, Rob
