25.01.2022 Here we venture to the water ways of Club Tropical where the rare species of the Jessicus Bohndis Swimmus Muchus has been sighted on occasions - most sightings have been made after dark!! Beware where you swim up here!!!!
25.01.2022 Vouchers, prizes etc around the winners of the raffle will be forwarded shortly. Expressions of interest for next years tour of Darwin are being taken - thats it ... merely expressions of interest. As already mentioned, NT Cricket is looking at potentially adding a girls division at next years carnival ... whod like to be part of history???
24.01.2022 A great attendance at the the training sessions at Moe over the weekend with 20 of the 27 registered players from the U19 girls and U17 boys teams to tour Darwin participating. Many thanks to the families and coaches for making a great start to our journey to the NT. People travelled from far and wide - from Ballarat, Gisborne, Melbourne & Buninyong to Buchan and Cowes to Dromana. The beginning of life long relationships

21.01.2022 Expressions of interest are being taken for next years tour to Darwin. NT Cricket is entertaining the possibility of adding a girls section to the carnival. The boys age grouping would possibly be U16 or 16 & Under with the girls eligibility being a bit more flexible. Its anticipated that the tour would commence in the first week of July 2020.... Updates will be posted here as they come to hand. Rob 0408 820 582

19.01.2022 Registrations are flying for this years trip up to Darwin with 10 registrations for each of the girls and boys teams If your interested please get in touch ASAP. After speaking to NT Cricket today the prospect of a girls division is looking very positive
19.01.2022 FW: NT Cricket Media Release: Cricket activities remain on hold until at least 31 May. Hi Everyone I havent included the whole of the media release as its rather lengthy.... I spoke with Neale Price from NT Cricket yesterday and he told me that another meeting is due for the 1st May. Even if there is a remarkable turn around between now and the end of May its unlikely that the girls U18 division will go ahead as Cricket Without Borders have withdrawn its expression of interest leaving team numbers very thin. As many players that have expressed an interest/registered to play, my suggestion is to put this trip on hold until 2021. As many of you will then be top age for that competition you might like to consider being part of history in the inaugural girls U18 Strike League in Darwin and make this a priority - it will also give you a chance to save $&$!!! For the boys U16 team we wont make a final decision until the 31st May and thats if there is still enough people wanting to go. Although (re information via Flight Centre) the air fares may escalate or plummet the final decision will be firmly based around YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY. For the top age players Ill be negotiating with NT Cricket to gain age exemptions for you to play in what many of you have been hanging out for Please dont hesitate to call!!! 0408 820 582 Do everything you can to help to stay healthy
19.01.2022 NT Cricket will work with the NT Government and Cricket Australia over the next 24 hours to develop a plan for the resumption of cricket activities in the Northern Territory. Where we’re at: You’ve probably seen that the NT have relaxed their restrictions allowing sports to restart by the 5th June. The problems at the moment are:... 1. They haven’t opened their borders 2. If they do, would there still be an isolation period of 14 days - which would make it too difficult for us 3. What would availability for flights be and 4. Would the cost of the flights be too expensive ? I have been in negotiation with organisers and put it to them that if we couldn’t go this year would they look at giving compensation to those that might be overage next year & their response was quite positive.

12.01.2022 NT Cricket meet next Monday which may shed som light on the proposed tour in July. To state the obvious the probability of it coming to fruition is very slim but I will add further comment after I contact NT on Monday or Tuesday

11.01.2022 With the NT Junior Strike League just concluded plans for next year are under way. The time frame will most probably mirror that of this year with a similar format and the possible inclusion of a girls division. This early start is in the hope of organising some substantial fundraising to help lower the costs per individual.... Expressions of interest may be lodged from this point onwards and in the case of excessive registrations there may be a trial process put in place. Anyone wishing to discuss should call Rob Wood on 0408 820 582 or email: [email protected] Regards Rob
11.01.2022 Congratulations to one of our Darwin tourists from 2019, Ethan Jarvis, who is playing first A grade game this week. We wish Ethan every success in what we hope will be a long and successful career

09.01.2022 A message from NT Cricket The TIO Junior Strike League (JSL) offers visiting southern teams the opportunity to play competitive high level cricket in Darwin during the southern winter. The competition was created in 2018 with three visiting U17 boys teams from Cricket Appeal Cricket Academy, Gippsland Victoria and the Valleys Cricket Club and two Darwin teams playing in a round robin 50 over fixture. Played annually during the July school holidays the JSL today has evolved t...o incorporate an U17 boys and now an U19 girls program featuring quality cricketers from various academy programs throughout Australia. 2021 will see a 5 team boys [50 over games] and girls [T20] program played over 5 days including a rest day, commencing on July 5 9 and features day and night cricket fixtures on DXC Arena 1 & 2 [Home of NT Cricket], Cazaly’s Arena and Gardens Oval arguably some of the most picturesque cricket grounds in Darwin. Not only will the cricket be red hot but July in Darwin offers a great chance to experience some truly magnificent parts of the greater Darwin area combined with perfect blue skies and 15 29 degree weather. Darwin truly is Australia’s tropical paradise in July. Some notable local experiences to be had are the world renowned multicultural Mindil Markets [food, arts, crafts, entertainment with 10 000 people], Litchfield National Park, Jumping Crocodile Cruises, great barra and pelagic fishing for the parents, Crocasaurus Cove [city] swimming with real live crocodiles, Crocodillus Park [5 mins from DXC Arena] etc etc. Northern Territory Cricket looks forward to hosting all teams in July and showcasing the truly magnificent features and benefits of playing cricket in Darwin.
09.01.2022 I am thrilled to inform you (particularly our recent touring party) that Jetstar have agreed to reimburse me the $1900 that I had to pay for our forced, overnight stay after the flight cancellation. I cant thank Sam Woods from Flightcentre for all his work in helping me to redeem the money There are good people around
08.01.2022 Darwin extended travels but I feel orphaned after losing my extended family to the southern extremes. But so good to drive a vehicle that can reach the speed limit AND not decelerate to under 10 kms up inclines. Thanks to Udara Weerasinghe ... Thanks so much to Bek and Warren for your patient back up making sure that we didnt get stranded! Team work exemplified along with our trusty pilot Chris Anders Thanks everyone with special mention to our mascot Rylen and again a HUGE thank you to the Minister for Hydration, Josh Bellingham, who went above and beyond the realms of duty
08.01.2022 Latest communique from Neale at NT Cricket. Junior Strike League (July) We are treating this competition as though it is going ahead with all the backend work underway finalising draws and taking nominations from teams. We are hopeful that the current COVID-19 virus subsides sooner than later and that we can all get on with the game we love, but our first priority is to make sure everyone is safe and stays healthy. Note: We totally understand that you would be in conversati...ons with travel companies, accommodation places, etc., and appreciate you will need to work with them re options around the competition going ahead or being postponed. From our end we will constantly update you with advice that we receive from Cricket Australia and Government. We appreciate your understanding as we all work through all logistics but please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. Regards, Neale. 07.01.2022 Just an update on where were at with the Darwin Tour for 2020. At this point we have 11 males and 11 females booked in with the potential for 2-3 more in each team. (some subject to finance). Tentative flight bookings with Flight Centre and accommodation at Club Tropical Resort have been made. Contact has also been made with transport providers in Darwin.... I am also looking for some sponsorship to try to help lessen the financial constraints. We have also been in discussion with Rob Woods (thats WoodS) at Ethical Adventures regarding some exciting extracurricular activities - last year we learnt Fire lighting without matches etc. We will continue to press forward with the assumption that the tour will not be affected by the virus. I can always be contacted via phone between the hours of 7.30am and 9.30pm ... often a phone call is the quickest way to clarify and avoid confusion. Rob Wood 0408 820 582

06.01.2022 I write to formally announce the very obvious that the Darwin Junior Strike League tour will not take place this year. Although NT Cricket still hope to run something internally the borders for interstate teams will most likely still be closed and, in addition, should anyone be allowed in, then the 14 day isolation period may well be employed. It's of great disappointment that this has happened but I hope to try to organise the trip in 2021. Please start to give this due con...sideration if you'd hope to participate, even should your birthday fall outside the cutoff date next year as NT Cricket has indicated that there will be flexibility seriously considered to those that are overage. Whilst those who registered this year will be given first preference if anyone would like to be considered for a potential 2021 trip (2nd week in July) please reply here or to my contact details below. Thank you to the 25 people that registered for 2020. The divisions are as follows: Female- U18 Male - U16 With all this in mind please indicate a response to the following: Whether you would consider going to Darwin next year. Rob 0408 820 582 [email protected]

06.01.2022 Hello All Ive been in contact with NT Cricket and they have confirmed the intention to schedule their Junior Strike League carnival at the same time as this year, that is, during the second week of the July holidays. They have also indicated (but yet to confirm) a desire to run an U18 girls division. The boys division will be U16.... Expressions of interest are being taken now either via this medium or by calling Rob on 0408 820 582
