15.01.2022 This holiday season, our team at Robyn Stephen & Associates collaborated to prepare a food hamper for donation to Uniting Care lifeAssist. The hamper will go to a family in need so that they can celebrate Christmas and the holidays in the same way that so many of us take for granted. It is an important value of the Practice and all of our staff to continue to find ways to make meaningful contributions to the community. Some of those here know from personal experience how much... of a significant difference a gift like a food hamper can be for families around this time of year, making the decision to make a hamper for UnitingCare lifeAssist an easy and fulfilling one for all of us involved. UnitingCare lifeAssist is a not-for-profit agency which provides government-funded and self-funded services throughout Victoria, assisting over 4,500 people annually. They support people who are aged to stay in their own homes for longer, as well as assisting people with disability, focusing on their strengths, abilities, goals and needs. lifeAssist also support the carers of these people, assisting them to take a break from their caring role. You can contact lifeAssist to see how they may be able to support you or your family today. https://www.facebook.com/UCLifeAssist/ #lifeAssist

09.01.2022 A fascinating and inspiring article about the many benefits an 'Autism assistance dog' was able to provide one family, including an increased sense of safety for their child, emotional support, and new opportunities to reconnect with their community. Most importantly, the family found that their son was able to gain greater independence in his life with the companionship and protection of Jason the dog. A wonderful story demonstrating a promising and novel approach for helping families and children with Autism.

06.01.2022 Heart-felt and full of determination, this letter allows us to catch a valuable insight into the way young children with autism spectrum disorder experience the world around them, particularly in the early years before diagnosis when they are often misconceived and misunderstood by those around them. As this letter conveys, the child and the family who are presented with ASD also face a journey that comes with challenges as well as enrichment and joy .If there is one thing that Kerry Mango, the author of this letter demonstrates, it is that it is a journey worth embarking on. Kerry is now a best-selling author and advocate for helping others understand autism spectrum disorder, bringing light and clarity through her writing to others who are journeying down the path that she took many years ago.
