22.01.2022 I came across some info re dark Goddesses in keeping with past post - when the moon is waning, she enters into her dark domain - this is the domain of the Crone. The Crone is seen as the older aspect of the Goddess, as she passes from fertility to wisdom of experience and intuition. The Crone is variously seen as a wise grandmother, a spinner, or weaver or someone who eases the path between life and death. The waning crescent moon is her sickle and the Dark Moon the time of her mysteries. Crone Goddesses include Hecate, Goddess of the witches, Baubo of a wicked humour and Morrigan who ushers the souls of the dead to the otherworld. So lovely to look at the phases of our beautiful moon as implicit in the cycles of our own lives lived under her, whether dark or aglow, spinning around us and our world for eons and eons.

20.01.2022 Had a great weekend in Hervey Bay for the Artists Afloat Inc /Perceptions exhibition at the beautiful Hervey Bay Regional Art Gallery. I met some beautiful African women who allowed me to paint them and a gorgeous Samoan girl who works in our little village! These portrait paintings are the ones I submitted.

05.01.2022 When a woman creates or obtains an altar it is because she recognises herself as a unique soul. She begins to create her altar by gathering up the scattered parts of herself and uniting or reuniting them with her innermost self. To make her altar a representation of herself, she calls for and reflects on her own feminine nature. She acknowledges the needs of her psyche. Her altar becomes a visual metaphor for her female spirit and a symbolic representation, a bridge to ancient secrets, to other worlds, to the old people, to places where her spirit can rest, dance, sing, whirl, be set free, outside of the constraints of her modern life. She enters a spiritual realm where her spirit can fly.
