25.01.2022 Our 'In Paddock' feeding system developed over 10 years ago that was designed to produce our Grass/Grain assisted Wagyu beef product. Going out under the Premium label Cattleman's Reserve. It was the first ever fully integrated Wagyu Beef label delivered to customers homes in Australia. The business was sold as our focus moved to the breeding of Fullblood Wagyu genetics. We now continue to use this feeding system to deliver the all essential grain /starch component to our Fullblood weaners in early development. The delivery of grain is important before 18 months of age so that you are able to enhance the genetic potential of those animals to marble. The feeding system has also doubled as a great way to drought feed our cows. The bunk system allows for total utilization of feed without it getting wasted on the ground.

20.01.2022 We had the privilege of hosting 2 Japanese Agricultural Students from the Meiji University School of Agriculture in Tokyo. Tabei Tomoya (Bei) and Yokoyama Hideya (Yoko) were very flexible when they were here as our circumstances had to be governed by the drought. They pitched in whenever there was a job to be done. Their goal in coming to Australia was to experience Australian agriculture and learn about our culture firsthand.

15.01.2022 We are a family owned and operated business and we have been breeding Fullblood Wagyu since 2005. We started our herd with genetics from 2 of Australia's best known Wagyu producers in David Blackmore and Goshu Wagyu. From there we have built our female herd with Shimane and Kedaka lines to build size and milk. We have also maintained a high Tajima line (for marbling) so we can produce bulls for the F1 market. We AI all our Fullblood Wagyu Dams to leading sires. We also have an extensive embryo flushing program but only flush embryos from proven dams. We sell Fullblood Wagyu Bulls for both the F1 and Fullblood breeder (there is a difference). We also sell a limited number of Fullblood Heifers and embryos.

14.01.2022 Success and good results come from a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck. We certainly put a lot into our day on Tuesday 26th June for the Northern Beef Week and we are pleased to report a good outcome with a good number of visitors and successful sales. As we thought the Fullblood heifer market is stronger than it’s ever been. The same could also be said for the embryo market if you get the mating right. Fullblood bulls are a different story this year, you can’t just... sell any bull regardless of breeding. It must be bred well to target the right market. We lost out on a few bull sales to potential new entrants to the F1 market as we feel that only people with existing contracts should continue down this track. A big thank you to all who came up for the open day and for anyone who missed it we would welcome your enquiry about our Fullblood Wagyu herd at any time. Kind Regards The Team at Rocala Wagyu (02) 6769 2395
