24.01.2022 If you're travelling these holidays, please be careful. In all the excitement, you still have to drive to the conditions. Even if the condition is a bad driver coming your way. Let's make is a safe and happy and healthy Christmas, not a 2020 Christmas.
23.01.2022 Please slow down and let our emergency workers get home safely to their children for Christmas - and every other day of the year. Move out of the way for emergency vehicles; they COULD be looking after somebody you love. Or not, just be considerate.
21.01.2022 Please share this with the young ones, especially P Platers and ute drivers. They seem to think they are invincible and no matter how much of an idiot that young one is, he or she is needed back home, safely, in once piece. And the same thing applies to you too. Your family does love you, no matter how far back they roll their eyes. make it a safe and happy Christmas for everyone.
21.01.2022 Something we may have to learn to live with. Popping up everywhere at short notice. Plan your lives very, very carefully, lest you be on the wrong side of the Police blocks. And be noce to these fine people; they're only doing their jobs, looking after YOU and YOURS; taking time out from their family time at Christmas and forever, it seems.
19.01.2022 'Tis the season to be scammed, apparently! As we're doing a lot more of this, it will pay to be vigilant while shopping online. You know, the usual, don't open links sent to you by ANYONE. A friend just sent me a link which looked so enticing, I clicked but didn't enter any details, thankfully.
19.01.2022 Have a break, have a kit kat, have anything, but take a break.
19.01.2022 While we're talking about spreading viruses, an oldie but a... , still an oldie, nothing good about this.
17.01.2022 Having to endure driving along the Motorway regularly, I can imagine how tough things are for truckies having to put up with idiots on the motorway. Move out of the way of these huge vehicles and don't cut in front of them in the 7 cms between them and the car in front of them because your exit is coming up and you've just scoooted over 3 lanes anyway.
16.01.2022 If you're daring enough to, omg, travel, these rules still exist.
10.01.2022 I was asked to help fish a dead koala out of a client's swimming pool recently and had not a clue who to report the matter to or who to turn to for help. At least we now know what to do with a feathered friend that is in trouble.
07.01.2022 This is something that is close to my heart, having lost somebody close to me to such an incident. It's a huge vehicle that you are obstructing. Why do you think you will manage to sneak through? Just stop. Is 53 seconds worth more than your life?
07.01.2022 This would be the worst roundabout on the planet and then, coupled with the ignorance about roundabout etiquette, it results in chaos and fender benders and some serious agro.
06.01.2022 Sounds like I want to save the planet or something.
05.01.2022 Report a koala sighting. There is some interest at the moment about koala populations, especially after those recent devastating fires. Apparently there has been some money allocated by the government for a koala census and management programme. Hopefully, this will be an ongoing exercise and not just a one off.
05.01.2022 These are always fun! You can drive around on your own too, if that works. Love Christmas!
04.01.2022 Keep your furry friends sunsafe too.
04.01.2022 Meet 18-month-old groodle Humphrey. Spending a late afternoon playing in and around the pool with his hoomans, Humphrey began to limp, and a little bit of blood... was noticed on the ground. Finding a laceration and with Humphry starting to shake a trip us was in need. Upon inspection, Dr Gabby at our Tanawha hospital found it wasn’t a cut Humphrey had, but two of his paws were severely burnt! Because our pooches pads are very sensitive, the burns to Humphrey's paws were kind of like a third-degree sunburn. Even though it wasn’t an extremely hot afternoon and the ground at Humphrey’s home was comfortable for his hoomans to sit on, it was still warm enough to cause damage. After treatment from our team, which included the wound being thoroughly cleaned, bandaging, and medication given, Humphrey was able to go home with his hoomans. Five days later, Humphrey’s paws are almost healed (see pic). Read Humphrey’s full story > https://hubs.la/H0BGZ1N0 With the incoming heatwave expected, here are a few tips on how to keep your furry friend cool: Access multiple freshwater sources available Access to plenty of shady areas Add ice cubes to their water bowls Paddling pools work a treat Cooling beds/mats Cool treats, like doggy icy poles Walk your pooch in the early morning of late afternoon when it’s cooler Be cautious walking your pooch on surfaces that conduct heat such as pavers, concrete, bitumen and sand If you can't leave your hand on the path or bitumen for more than five seconds, it's too hot for your dog Avoid taking dogs in the car or have the windows down or place them near air-con vents Photos: ABC Sunshine Coast: Kylie Bartholomew
02.01.2022 Don't ask if you can just afford it? Ask yourself: is it really worth it?
