10.01.2022 Hi everyone! Hope you are keeping safe. I have been busy, busy teaching myself new techniques for the last two months. I have also decided not to go back to Airlie Beach Markets. Too hot, too windy, too dirty, too old! Me, that is! So I have slowly, slowly been opening new retail markets, and I am still pondering a new website. This Covid-19 year has definitely been interesting. Initially, as lock-down descended upon us all, my mood also descended. Everything had stopped! Wh...at was I going to do? I had never stopped before! I had spent 76 years being flat-out busy! But in my quiet withdrawal, I was able to relax; no more timetables and deadlines; and I was able to re-assess what I wanted my art to be. Having spent 15 years as a highly successful silk painter, I knew that I loved painting; so now I am combining the polymer clay with a more painterly approach. And I am not rushing anymore. So I have to catch up a little here and show the finished results of my simple Natasha slices. I made two pendant necklaces and one pair of large earrings. The pendant slices were placed on a textured backing of polymer, and the earrings were shaped and backed and burnished to round the edges. Very Boho or ethnic, I think. 10.01.2022 I'm back! Making the surprise - refresh with the previous post - I'm making Natasha patterns from tiny amounts of scrap. I have made a block of scrap layers which I am about to attack! Open up the first photo, read the explanation and follow the right hand arrow for the next image. Enjoy!

06.01.2022 You might wonder how I can turn some polymer clay into a bikini? I am about to show you in three posts. This is post No.1. The inspiration and brief. Don't forget, click on the first image, read the description and then click on the right hand arrow to sequence through.

05.01.2022 Now this is exciting and surprising. I am making Natasha patterns using the tiny scraps from those student classes. I gave out a lot of these scraps to my students and only had a few pieces left. But that was enough. Click thru the photos and read the descriptions. Enjoy! I am splitting this into 2 posts, so this is the preparation post and the next will include the surprise.
