23.01.2022 Training at youngtown on Monday night
22.01.2022 Happy New Year from all of us at Rocherlea! We saw out 2019 in the Fingal valley, working alongside emergency services volunteers and staff from across the North and North West to protect the communities of Fingal and Mangana. We hope that 2020 is a prosperous year for all who call the northern suburbs home. Make it your New Year's resolution to check your family's Bushfire Survival Plan: decide what you are going to do, and then prepare to enact it if a bushfire occurs nea...r you. Be safe out there! http://fire.tas.gov.au/Show
19.01.2022 A total fire ban has been declared for Saturday 4 January for municipalities in the north and south. During a total fire ban it is illegal to light or cause a f...ire to start in the open. Please report any bushfire or smoke sightings very quickly to TFS by calling Triple Zero. Because it's a total fire ban, any smoke sighting should be treated as a bushfire and responded to quickly. The total fire ban is in force in the following municipalities between 2am on Saturday 4 January until 2am Sunday 5 January: Brighton, Central Highlands, Clarence, Derwent Valley, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Glenorchy, Hobart, Huon Valley, Kingborough, Sorell, Southern Midlands, Tasman, Break'O'Day, Dorset, George Town, Launceston, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, West Tamar, and Flinders. Listen to ABC Local Radio for the warnings and advice in a bushfire.

13.01.2022 Crews from Rocherlea, Launceston and Ravenswood were kept busy yesterday with a bushfire off the back of Dover village in Mowbray. Unfortunately at this incident a stand pipe and filler hose was stolen while crews were working to contain this blaze. We often set up a filling point for our trucks so that we can quickly fill our trucks and get back to the fireground. It is disappointing that someone would steal our equipment while we are working to protect the community and we would very much like that equipment returned. Any information regarding this can be reported anonymously to Tasmania Police on 1800 333 000.
09.01.2022 Tonight our brigade held officer group elections: 1st Officer - Ian Heyward 2nd Officer - Darren Badcock 3rd Officer - Sam Capstick... 4th Officer - Laura Smith Congratulations to all that were nominated on the night.

04.01.2022 On Sunday 20th December Rocherlea 4.1 formed part of a strike team based at Campbell Town. During our day we liased with our air operations staff and learnt a bit more about one of the machines we may be working with this summer. Thankfully we did not have to assist with any bushfires last weekend. We would like to thank the wider community for their awareness and preparation for any events that may have unfolded. We strongly urge you to make a bushfire survival plan now if you haven't already. Please visit: http://www.fire.tas.gov.au/Show for more information.

02.01.2022 Today the Rocherlea volunteers will have a crew on standby at station from midday. We will be turning out alongside today’s crew of career firefighters, helping to ensure the northern suburbs are provided with an efficient and effective emergency response. Today is a day of TOTAL FIRE BAN in the Launceston Municipality, from 2am this morning (Friday 04/01/2019), until 2am tomorrow morning (Saturday 05/01/2019). On days like today, fires may be fast-moving, unpredictable, an...d difficult to control. It is essential that anyone who sees smoke or fire today calls Triple Zero (000) immediately. Thank you in advance to our local community for your support, by upholding the rules and regulations associated with days of Total Fire Ban, and remaining vigilant for the presence of fire in our landscape. It is much appreciated!
01.01.2022 This is disappointing, to say the very least. We strongly encourage anyone with information to come forward.
01.01.2022 It's hot out there... and conditions are expected to worsen this week. We will be declaring Total Fire Bans for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Forecast weather ...conditions on those days will make containing existing fires and stopping new fires extremely difficult. The total fire ban on Tuesday applies to the North and South, not the North West. The bans on Thursday and Friday apply statewide. No matter where you are, we need you to do the following things now to prepare for this week: - ensure your property is clear of long grass, twigs, and leaf litter. - review your Bushfire Survival Plan. - if you don't have a Bushfire Survival Plan, you must decide what you will do if there is a fire near you. If your home is not well prepared for a bushfire then leaving early is your safest option. Fires are burning right across Tasmania at the moment. If you are spending time in the bush and at camping areas, you must be aware of the local conditions, stay up to date via www.fire.tas.gov.au and listen to ABC Local Radio if there is a fire near you.
01.01.2022 The Rocherlea Volunteer Fire Brigade along with our friends from Dilston Fire Brigade, will be at Coles Mowbray tomorrow (Saturday 30th/July) from 9am - 2pm. Members are raising money to support our combined team that will be competing in this years State Firefighter Championship. Proceeds will fund team shirts to be made.
