19.01.2022 Well done Jesse Morgan. On the weekend he raced in the EWS Round 2 in Tasmania. Racing with the best mountain bikers in the world, riding the hardest trails, and with testing conditions (see photo!) he finished 20th in under 21s. The course had 7 stages, with 56km of riding and 2000m climbing. Well done champ, and watch out WA as he will be flying when he returns.
17.01.2022 Good luck Jesse!

15.01.2022 Next in our series of Team Riders is young Emma Smith. A seasoned cyclist she is making huge inroads into mountain biking. I have been a competitive cyclist for several years having started when I was eight years old when my dad first took me to the track at Midvale Speed dome. Over the past 5 years I have ridden and raced in nearly all disciplines including mountain bike, track road and cyclocross. During this time I have won numerous State Titles on the track including ...breaking a State record (u13 Flying 200) that stood for 10 years and I have also won several road races and criterium races in the past year. In 2017 I was the Womens C Grade series winner for the 2017 WA Cyclocross Season and Champion Year 7 girl at the WA State Schools Mountain Bike Championships and came third in the State Mountain Bike Championships (U15 women). I was also the recipient of the 2017 Luke Durbridge Cycling Scholarship. Without doubt 2017 was one of my best years so far in cycling as I started competing in cross country racing and ended up competing in two different cycling nationals, including the 2017 Australian National Mountain Bike Championships. This was a big eye opener for me as the course was so much harder than anything we do locally!!! I ve had a lot of tough races that I had to push through but it ended up helping me a lot. My biggest goal in 2017 was to try and win the race I raced. Towards the end of the year I joined Rock and Roll racing team and they helped me gain my confidence and change my perspective of goal making and my goal changed from trying to win a race to trying my best in every race I did. Rock and roll also helped me gain confidence in everything I did so when I couldnt do an obstacle Mark and Katja helped me overcome the fear of crashing while riding throughout the obstacle but as I started practicing more with Rock and Roll I gained much more confidence and let loose on the brakes. My goals for 2018 are to continue training hard and trying my best and hopefully the results will show by standing on the top step of the podium. See more
14.01.2022 We are seeking assistance to help these young racers achieve their dreams. Over the past two years these riders have trained and raced their way to the top of their sport. They now have the opportunities to further increase their experience through racing at National and International events. Rock and Roll Racing currently provides a huge amount of support with coaching, race entry, travel, equipment and kit but there are many costs to get the juniors to these races. Any amount of support would be great. All proceeds will only go to junior development.
13.01.2022 Next in our rider introductions is another Kalamunda local rider Cody Morgan. Although mountain biking is an individual sport his words about being in the team really made me proud as these are the reasons we have created this team and support these junior riders. Well written Cody. My goals for 2017 were to get on the podium at WAGE events, to get a WAGE Top 3 Series position in Mens U/15 and increase my fitness and strength. The highlights for the year was to go to GE Nati...onals in Adelaide- my first inter-state trip, getting my first ever podium at Round 1 WAGE in Kalamunda and getting a Giant Reign to ride mid-season. One of the low points of the season was braking my hand mid-season on a social ride. This made it tough to race at the Linga Longa WAGE race to keep my chance of achieving a WAGE series position alive. My hand lost heaps of strength while I had the cast on. The other major low point was during the GE Nationals Day 1, my crank fell off just before the last stage of the day. I managed to find all the pieces, carry them with me whilst ROLLING the last stage and then running my bike back to the race village so I didnt get any time penalties. I lost heaps of time in the stage which put me out of the race competition. Mark and Dad were able to fix it so I could race on Day 2. Kris and Tate, my Rock and Roll Team mates, helped carry the bike pieces back to the race village and encouraged me along the way. All this help has made me realise the value of being in the Rock and Roll Team. I also learnt a lot about what to do when things go wrong and not to give up. My 2017 Results : - 3rd place, 2017 WAGE Series, Men U15 - 2nd place, 2017 WAGE State Championships, Men U15 - 3rd place, 2017 GE National Round 4, Men U15 Rock and Roll Racing have helped me throughout the year by providing coaching, training and plans to increase my skills, fitness and strength, and pushed me to keep going when sometimes Id rather not! They provide valuable support and advice during training and at races, especially when we were away at National GE championships. They provide a great team environment with other kids doing the same as me. They have organised fundraising to help with costs like travel and clothing, provided parts at really good prices and provided race entries for me. Im looking forward to 2018! See more
12.01.2022 Podiums, podiums and more podiums. What an awesome start to the 2017 mtb race season. We had 8 Rock and Roll Racing team riders race at the #WAgravityenduro WAGE round 1 event on the weekend. We were faced with hot and dusty conditions but had the advantage of home Kalamunda trails. Check out these for results: U15s 3rd Cody Morgan (first ever podium) 4th Tom Rubery (only 1 sec behind)... 10th Taj Wisewood (first gravity race) U17s 1st Jesse Morgan (would have placed 3rd in Elite) 2nd Tate McBroom 4th Jacob Wright (only 4 secs behind) Masters Men 3rd Ben McGrath Elite Women 1st Katja Alsop (current Aust Champion) So proud of all these riders, they have all trained so hard over the off season. This season is shaping up to be off the scale. Bring on the next round of racing. #rockandrollracing #rockandrollmountainbiking #fistarmy #fisthandwear #wagravityenduro #wage #trekbicyclesaustralia #proudcoach #bestmtbteam Fist Handwear
11.01.2022 The second athlete we would proudly like to introduce is local shedder Tom Rubery. If you ride around Kalamunda, there is a good chance of spotting this kid on his bike, as he is ALWAYS on his bike. At the bmx track, around the street or out on the trails.Coming from a mountain biking family he was always destined to ride. My goal for 2017 season was to get the best place I could racing Gravity Enduro in U15s as a 12 year old and win. Was really pumped to place top 5 in a...ll Gravity Enduro and XC races I entered, with 3rd Chittering WAGE Round and 2nd in National Round at Linga Longa Bike Park and a 2nd in the Albany Downhill Race (only downhill race I entered). I broke the growth plate in my knee trampolining at Bounce not shredding my bike so couldnt ride for 14 weeks missing half the season and my first National champs in Adelaide. Rock and Roll have taught me so much about racing, training, goal setting. Thankyou heaps for the opportunity to be part of the Team. So excited for 2018 year of racing, starting with National XCO rounds in Pemberton. YEEHARR See more
09.01.2022 We honestly feel no other MTB team in Western Australia delivers more to the development of local riding talent than Rock and Roll Racing. Our juniors riders have travelled across all of Australia over the past few years, racing the best and learning from these experiences. We have earned podiums in XCO and GE at National events though out Australia. Over the next few months our XCO riders will be at National rounds In Nerang Qld Pemberton WA and Armidale NSW. Followed by our Gravity Enduro racers traveling for podiums. #noshortcuts #bestinwa #futureofthesport
09.01.2022 Day two of the weekends racing at Mt Taylor in Victoria.
08.01.2022 Over the next few weeks we are going to introduce our Rock and Roll Racing Team riders, but with words they have written about their 2017 race season. First up is the pocket rocket JEN ROUGHTON. 2017 was a year I can not forget, I raced Enduro, Downhill, and Cross country. The Enduro racing started off humid and hot, although the weather conditions where miserable, racing the Kalamunda trails was still fun. Kalamunda was where I achieved my first Win of 2017. My goal of 2017... was to win but, when I was invited to join the Rock and Roll racing team my perspective changed, until I joined Rock and Roll, I only raced for fun and of course I still do but it has become more than just fun. I am now being trained by a coach and I have to put in the effort to stay on the team. Rock and Roll helped me make realistic goals which helped me to be more motivated, I have learnt many new skills while I have been training with Rock and Roll, one of them is, how to prepare for races. Downhill racing was always for fun, Enduro thats when I was competitive, and doing well in Cross Country came with a lot of training. I surprised myself when I won the State Cross Country for Under 15s which made me realise I can do anything if I put in the effort. Racing in 2017 was something I am grateful for and without Rock and Roll and my family I wouldnt have been able to do so well in 2017. My favourite trails while racing Enduro were at The Linga Longa Bike Park, which hold the best trails in WA and I won the National Series Gravity Enduro round, held there. My 2017 year was filled with highlights and lowlights which is what made it so amazing. I am now prepared to start a new racing season in 2018. 2017 Highlights: 1st U19 WAGE GE Series 1st U19 WAGE State Champion 1st U15 State XCO Series 1st U15 State XCO Champion See more
07.01.2022 We are proud to announce we will be expanding our junior development programme for young mountain bikers in Western Australia. The new Rock and Roll Junior Development Squad will be aimed at u15 and u17 juniors that are keen to keep progressing their skills and fitness. 06.01.2022 The final round of the WAGE series was held at the Goat Farm MTB Park two weeks ago, and three of our team riders won their classes for the Gravity Enduro 2017 season. Congrats to Katja (elite women) Jesse and Jen (under 19 juniors).
04.01.2022 We quite often learn more from times of adversity and our abillty to perform when we are challenged, than our perfect training sessions or races. Jacob had two near perfect races at Rnd 5 and 6 with 5th and 3rd places. But an OTB on his last MTB traning session before flying out for the Oceanias and AUS Nationals left him with nerve damage in the neck and shoulder. Unsure if he would even be able to race we treated and rehabed the best we could in the 7 days, flew out and he... raced on the weekend. It turned out to be one of the hardest courses, where there was no place to rest, with lots of steep climbing and very rocky techy decents. Jacob got the job done, finished 11th in a super fast field of U17s. I was more proud of his race on the weekend, than when we podiumed the race before. And I am sure he will remember this race just like he will hi best races. The ability to get on the bike and race no matter the circumstances is a trait that makes a champion, not every race will have the perfect lead up, be injury or sickness free or be without mechincals. But leaving 100% out on the track and performing to our highest level is the difference between a champion and an average rider in my eyes. Well done Jacob and onto the Aus Nationals Champs. See more

01.01.2022 Even with racing nearly finished in the 2017 Aust National XCO and DHI series, many athletes are only just getting their season underway. Jesse Morgan, is a junior on a mission at the moment. He is training the house down chasing his dream of beating the best in the world at the upcoming EWS round 2 in Tasmania in April. After winning u17s (with a time that would have been 3rd in Elite) in his first race, he is not resting and putting some serious bike time in preparation for the trip. Check out this #banger from the weekend, and always remember why we ride or race, its fun! He found time to do that on the weekend.
01.01.2022 Team is looking relaxed for the competition today! Good luck to you all from all of us stuck in the West!
