20.01.2022 Channel 7 Double Island Point UHF repeater is provided for long distance communication in mobile phone black spot areas. We politely ask convoys and close range... users NOT to use channel 7 or 37 while in the areas of and surrounding Rainbow Beach, Noosa or K'gari Fraser Island. However community organisations and government bodies have the capacity to monitor Ch 7 D.I. Repeater and if important communication is necessary in our coverage area, turn your UHF to channel 7 with the duplex turned on and transmit your message. Double Island Point UHF Repeater Committee is a non for profit organisation and provides this service for your safety and relies on public support and donations for its survival. See more

14.01.2022 Wonderful to see the boys in blue in the region over the weekend! A report just in from the regions police said to expect RBT anywhere, anytime: Rainbow Beach, ...Teewah, Freshwater Track Senior Constable Melanie Ryan said officers from the Maryborough Road Policing Unit joined officers from Gympie on Sunday, September 6, in a collaborative operation known as ‘Sand Strike’. This operation targeted anti-social driving within our local Cooloola Coast beaches and 4WD tracks. Patrols were conducted on Rainbow Beach, Freshwater Track, Leisha Track, and Teewah Beach within the Gympie Police Patrol Group. An officer conducting an RBT at Cooloola said as a result of the operation, more than 60 random breath tests were conducted and nine traffic infringement notices were issued; four were for traveling between 13km-20km/h over the speed limit, three were for exceeding speed between 20km/h and 30km/h and two for driving defective vehicles. A notice to appear was issued for a Positive Roadside Saliva Drug Test awaiting confirmation results. Officer In Charge of the Maryborough Road Policing Unit Sergeant Josh Churchward said Police will continue to target anti-social driving and defective vehicles that pose a risk to road safety in all types of environments. Hooning, Drink and Drug Driving and general loutish behaviour will not be tolerated, and spoils this pristine recreational area for families, fishers and campers, he said.
