25.01.2022 Wendy Eather getting her Competent Communication Award at 5th Aug 2020. "After 8 years, I finally got it" Wendy was very excited to receive the award.

25.01.2022 What do we do in the Toastmasters meeting? A Grammarian introduces a word for everyone at the beginning of the meeting. We are encouraged to say this word during the speeches. You can learn the new word at every meeting! On 7 Oct 2020 @Rodalecommunicators, Jillian gave us this word - "pestiferous". Now you can say something other than "annoying". :-P... Guess who used this word most times?

18.01.2022 Tonight, Toastmasters meeting or State of Origin? That's the question

18.01.2022 What do we do at a Toastmasters meeting? A table topic master introduces a topic or theme and then call on respondents at random for an impromptu speech 1 to 2 minutes. On the night of 21 Oct 2020 meeting, our topic master Wendy conducted an enquiry for the murder of billionaire Jeff . Everyone in the room was playing the role who was the suspect trying to defend themselves that they were not the killer! That was a turn-up for the books table topics. The plot thickens a...fter each suspect talked. Finally, chief inspector Ana drew a conclusion that Jeff's best friend most likely was the one to blame. That's what you missed at our last meeting.

17.01.2022 Since July 2020, there are 4 new members joined our club. Suresh, Shiva, Kasey and Jillion will be giving us their ice breaker speeches at the next meeting (16 Sep 2020). Ice Breaker Speech project marks the beginning of your Toastmasters journey. It is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the group and share something about yourself. We are looking forward to the life stories of our new members.

16.01.2022 Ana, who was the Grammarian of the meeting on 4 Nov 2020. She gave us "precarious" precarious /prkrs/ adj. Meaning: not securely held or in position; dangerously likely to fall or collapse.

16.01.2022 Riasat was presenting his level 3 project at our last meeting on 18 Nov 2020. Project "Focus On The Positive" asks us to be aware of our thoughts and feelings, as well as the impact of our responses on others. Riasat told us his work experiences as a manager and how he adapted the Covid19 situations as a leader and help solve business issues and meet the needs of individuals, communities and organisations to create positive change. Share the positivity @Rockdalecommunicators #toastmasters

16.01.2022 #RUOKDay2020 R U OK?Day is Thursday 10 September 2020. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day... 'THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?' A hello, a response and a conversation sometimes can change a life. We now know that communications are more important in current situations. Stay connected with your family and friends if you are not able to visit each other or you are working from home. Let them know that you miss them and tell them if you are ok.

14.01.2022 After you join the Toastmasters club. Your first speech project will be "Ice Breaker". You will get the project training and manual through Pathways. It is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the club and share something or tell a story about yourself. Time: 4 - 6 minutes. Tips: It's a bit like when you are at the job interview - "Tell us about yourself". But you can focus on one or two aspects of your life because you only have up to 6 minutes. You will have pl...enty of opportunities to tell us your life stories in future projects. Join us and tell us your story. #whatwedointoastmasters #rockdalecommunicators #icebreaker #pathways

14.01.2022 Sometimes we have to use different communicationstyle to deal with different people or situations. In Toastmasters Pathways, we have a project that asks us to learn how to identify different communication styles. Determining your own communication style can help you improve how you share information with others. There are 4 major styles. What's your preferred method of communication? #toastmasters #rockdalecommunicators #communicationstyles

14.01.2022 No winter lasts forever. It's time for a change. You are not alone in this Pandemic. Be patient, perseverant, warm-hearted, they have nothing to do with your character. The world is changing and so should we. Sharpen your soft skills while others are wallowing in despair. Inspire others and be inspired by others at Toastmasters. #rockdalecommunicators #communications #toastmasters

14.01.2022 We already reunited at the Bexley RSL club at the last meeting on 15 July 2020. Everyone was excited to see each other and we had 2 courageous guests who made table topic speeches. We will continue to have a live venue meeting until further notice. Our thoughts and prayers are with people in VIC and all around the world who have been suffering. We are saddened that we cannot see those members and visitors online who are not currently in Sydney Australia. Your health is our ...priority. We will follow the regulation and measurement from gov to make sure our next meeting is safe. Please do not hesitate to contact us by email ([email protected]) #toastmasters #publicspeaking #communication See more
