22.01.2022 Rockdale Musical Society is very pleased to announce and welcome David Lang to our upcoming production of 13 as Musical Director. David has worked on several RMS productions in the past and the committee and production team are very excited to have him back on board for this show. 13 the Musical will be playing at the Rockdale Town Hall in January 2021 after being postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year. ... 22.01.2022 Rockdale Musical Society is delighted to announce that with the assistance of the Hal Leonard Australia and MTI we have been able to successfully reschedule our production of 13 The Musical to January 2021. 13 was supposed to be staged in June 2020 but with COVID19 restrictions and social distancing rules, RMS decided to postpone the show back in March. We are hoping to recommence rehearsals in early to mid-September pending government guidelines. ... 20.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL KIDS, ADULTS AND DANCERS ALIKE! Have you booked your audition spot yet for Annie? Auditions are fast approaching with spots already starting to fill up. With NSW still practicing COVID 19 restrictions, RMS has set up a series of processes to hold our auditions for Annie both in person or virtually via ZOOM. In addition, we're also working closely with Bayside Council to start rehearsals for this production with a very strict COVID safety plan already in place. 19.01.2022 Rockdale Musical Society would like to invite expressions of interest from anybody wishing to apply for the role of Director, Musical Director, or Choreographer for our upcoming production of Annie. Annie will be staged at the Rockdale Town Hall in 2021 for a total of 9 performances between March 5th and 14th. Auditions will more than likely be held late August-early September with rehearsals being held on Tuesday and Thursday nights until the show opens. ... Directors applying should send a short synopsis of their vision for the show including any staging ideas in regards to sets and cast size. Musical Directors and Choreographers should send a detailed CV with a brief introduction and the reason why you would like to be apart of this production. All applications should be received no later than COB Friday, June 23rd. Please email [email protected]

Join the production team on Monday 28th September 2020 to learn about their vision for the show, how to audition, and how what you will need to do to register to audition. With COVID 19 still being an issue in the community, RMS has set up a series of processes to hold our auditions for Annie online. We are also working closely with Bayside Council to start rehearsals for this production with a very strict COV...ID safety plan in place. While directing and performing play a large part in Hannah’s overall well-being, Rupert (her rescue cat) would have to be her main source of happiness. The entertainment industry includes a huge supply chain ranging from production, audio, lighting, and video, to logistics, planning, transportation, as well as leading technology manufacturers.... Without additional support for the supply chain, Australia is in danger of losing its global position as a global leader in world-class events. Moreover, all of our incredible creatives and technicians could lose their livelihoods for good. 16.01.2022 Rockdale Musical Society is very pleased to announce the production team for our March 2021 production of ANNIE. Hannah Barn - Director Callum Close - Musical Director Victoria Lewis - Choreographer ... This will be Hannah's second show in the directors' chair for RMS while we are very excited to welcome Callum and Victoria into our theatre family. Behind the scenes now the team will be working on the audition pack which we will release soon with details about auditions and the recommencement of rehearsals. Please note that at this point no firm recommencement date for rehearsals has been set due to COVID-19 restrictions. RMS is working closely with Bayside Council and NSW Dept Health to establish a COVID Safe plan for the society.
14.01.2022 Due to the on-going situation and current stay at home orders issued by the NSW State Government in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Greater Sydney region and our earlier announcement about the postponement of our sell out season of ANNIE, Rockdale Musical Society would like to inform ALL ticket holders that we will be processing full refunds to ALL performances at this time. Ticket holders will not need to do anything at this time as all refunds will be made automat...ically to the card used to purchase your tickets. Please allow up-to 14 days for this process to take place. While we are disappointed that ANNIE has not been able to be staged at this particular time and we are grateful for all of the messages of support, the safety of our patrons and members remains our highest priority. Annie will be staged at the Rockdale Town Hall in 2021 for a total of 9 performances between March 5th and 14th. ... Directors applying should send a short synopsis of their vision for the show including any staging ideas in regards to sets and cast size. Musical Directors and Choreographers should send a detailed CV with a brief introduction and the reason why you would like to be apart of this production. This will be one of our major productions for 2021, with a reasonable budget to work with, full ongoing support from our committee, and a fantastic team for lighting and sound from our vendors. All production team members are paid a generous gratuity at the conclusion of the production. 03.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Rockdale Musical Society is currently monitoring the situation regarding the current COVID 19 restrictions imposed by the NSW Government this week. ... Our production of ANNIE opens after the current date set for these restrictions to be reviewed. We understand that these restrictions could be extended past the 30th June, which could potentially cause our opening night and season to be cancelled or postponed. While at this point in time our focus is moving forward as if the production is going ahead our main priority is the safety of our cast, crew, vendors and patrons and will reassess the situation in line with the advice given from NSW Health and the NSW Government. We ask all ticket holders to assume their performance will still proceed as scheduled, unless Otherwise notified by our box-office representative or Rockdale Musical Society.
02.01.2022 Due to the current COVID stay at home order issued by the NSW Government Rockdale Musical Society regret to inform all of our ticket holders that our current season of ANNIE which was due to open on July 1st has been postponed. The cast and production team of ANNIE have worked hard to bring this show to life, and the RMS Committee want to ensure that they can perform the show to you in a COVID safe environment. As a result, we are currently working with the rightsholders to ...move the performance dates more suitable ones outside of the restrictions. Our friendly box-office team will contact ALL ticket holders within the next 21 days to discuss either moving your ticket to a new performance date or issueing a full refund. It is our priority here at Rockdale Musical Society to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all our members, cast, crew, production team and patrons during this time of uncertainty.
