23.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS AAM DIV11 ROCKETS! 2020 Hills Football Champions! An outstanding undefeated season and final by our AAM11 Gents taking out the Championship 6-3 vs Hills Spirit. The game was very quickly in the Rockets control in the first 10 minutes of the game with our guys scoring off a beautiful free kick outside of the penalty box nesting the ball into the top left hand corner of the goal.... The quality of play and excitement continued throughout the 1st half with the 2nd goal coming from a perfectly timed through ball from the right wing to the left leaving our striker in a 1 on 1 with the Hills Spirit keeper who couldn't find a way to stop the perfectly placed strike into the bottom right corner. Our guys 3rd goal was somewhat gifted to our guys when the Hills Spirit Keeper was 'nutmegged' (ball went through his legs) from a Rockets free kick. The 4th goal came before half time and was the result of a beautifully crafted play from our Rockets midfielder that skillfully skipped around 3 Hills Spirit defenders and placed the ball into the top left corner from a strike taken outside the penalty box. In the 2nd half and with not a lot to lose Hills Spirit upped the ante and pressed hard in attacking which resulted in them getting onto the score sheet. However whilst the Spirit would go onto score another 2 goals in the 2nd half by doubling down on their tactic of thinning out their defense and mids in order to press higher and harder in attack, it left them wide open to the deadly counter attack from our Rockets. The 5th goal for our guys came from a stunning left cross to the right hand goal post which was met with a brilliant header back into the top left of the goal making it impossible for the Spirit keeper to save. Finally the Rockets sealed the Championship win with their 6th goal of the day that came from some scrappy play in the goal box after our winger skipped in between 2 players that allowed the ball to sneak through and cross the goal line! 20.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS U13 DIV2 ROCKETS! 2020 Hills Football Champions! An exciting and well deserved win by this team made up mostly of 12 year olds playing up. Our boys didn't waste time in out playing the best Castle Hill United had to offer. The unique style of play very quickly resulted in multiple quality attempts on goal culminating in a smashing goal from distance by the Rockets in the first 20 minutes of the game! ... Before half time was up our boys played the ball elegantly down the sideline and around multiple defenders to place a well timed pass inside the penalty box followed by a tap onto a Rockets player with more space who drove the ball decidedly towards goal beating the Castle Hill United keeper's reach with the ball bulging the net in the bottom left of the goal. The game was well and truly in control of the Rockets by half time leading 2-0. The heat started to bear down on all players as the 2nd half commenced with the Rockets continuing their barrage of attacks on goal keeping the pressure and play of the game on Castle Hill United and in the Rockets attacking half of the field. The game wasn't over however as late in the 2nd half Castle Hill United capitalised on a counter attack opportunity that found them adding a goal to the scoreline. Hopes from the Castle Hill United spectators were shortly lived as the Rockets regained and kept control of the game from there. Despite the valiant efforts of the Castle Hill United team, the quality and style of football played by the Rockets was no match on the day and our U13 Div2 boys sealed the game at 2-1 inscribing their team name into the 2020 Hills Champions Trophy! 17.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS U12 Girls DIV2 ROCKETS! 2020 Hills Football Champions! We are particularly proud of the hard work, effort and determination these beautiful young ladies have shown throughout this season resulting in a resounding Grand Final win over Kellyville Kolts 3-1! They've taken out a clean sweep of the highest accolades in the Hills Football district - 2020 Champions & Premiers!... They're proof that female football at the Rockets is the strongest in the Hills District and the place to be! The stage was set last Sunday at Bernie Mullane Reserve vs a well respected Kellyville Kolts squad. The 1st half kicked off with our girls immediately showing their dominance and pressing the Kolts into a defensive position which remained the case for the majority of the game. With fresher legs and the whole team defending, the Kolts made our girls many repeated attempts on goal difficult to resolve. The 2nd half however very quickly showed our girl's skill and quality when they scored our 1st goal from a direct impeccably placed right hand side corner kick that flew above the Kolt's keepers reach and stretched the top left of the net! It's the stuff of dreams and created an almighty roar among the Rockets supporters and parents cheering for our girls. The 2nd goal came soon after when a scrappy handled ball retrieval by the Kolts keeper gave our girls another opportunity to poke the ball through and into the goal. However some hope came to the Kolts supporters when in the tail end of the second half they ran away with the ball and scored in a 1 on 1 contest with our keeper after a rebound from an initial save. The score now sat at 2-1 with only a few minutes left to play. The Kolts sideline lifted their support in the wish that their dreams were still in reach but in the final minutes of the game any flame of hope was extinguished by a whopping strike from our girls that flew through the air with pace and was slightly deflected into the goal by a Kolts defender! Our girls played an elegant game of football passing and demonstrating their dominance throughout the game putting together pass after pass leading to waves of attacks that the Kolts could only try to repel. For spectators of both teams its was obvious that the Rockets Girls deserved their names inscribed and immortalised in history as the undisputed Hills Champions in 2020! 08.01.2022 Hey Rockets! Check out how proud our U13Div1 boys were to raise the 2020 Hills Champions Trophy! We're sure there were plenty of proud parents clapping and cheering the team too! Go ROCKETS! #blastoff

07.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS U13 DIV1 ROCKETS! 2020 Hills Football Champions! This group of young men have not only won the Grand Final vs Kellyville Kolts 4-2 but have also come through the entire season undefeated taking out the Premiership! The game started off at with Kellyville Kolts pressing hard and finding a few scoring chances. It wasn't long into the game however that our boys won a corner and scored from it!... By half time our boys were up 2-0. The second half saw our champs nudge forward with another outstanding goal to 3-0 nearly dashing all Kolts hopes of a win. But the Kolts hadn't given up entirely yet. . . the last 10 minutes of the game had spectator's hearts in their mouths with the Kolts managing to find 2 goals (1 from a penalty) narrowing the score to 3-2. However the Kolts moment of hope was crushed immediately after the kick-off where our boys ran the ball down the line, cut back into the penalty box avoiding all Kolts defenders and slamming in another goal with only seconds to spare!
