19.01.2022 WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Lower Primary 4 entered the Rockhampton Regional Libraries 2020 F5F Children’s Picture Book competition. We are excited to announce that we were winners in the Adult/Child (6+ years) collaboration category! We had to write a picture book for children 5 years and under and to plan our book we asked the Prep students what they like to read about. Our book is about a dog and cat who come to school for the day and get up to all sorts of activities even a bit of mischief! We were very lucky to win a prize pack with 3 audio CDs and a $50 QBD voucher so we can purchase some new books for our library!

16.01.2022 As part of AAC Month in October students enjoyed some of the challenges from our AAC calendar of activities. Making a card or letter for a friend was a hit with lots of classes! Students in Miss Kylie’s class made a birthday card for their very good friend Miss Taylah, who helps them in the playground every day. They watched a video clip from Amanda Hartmann about birthdays while Miss Kylie modelled lots of writing. The students used Proloquo2Go to create messages, which they... put together in a card and delivered to Miss Taylah on her birthday. The boys in Miss Julie’s class chose friends to write to. They used Proloquo2Go to talk about what they wanted to say and used different alternate pencils, such as letter blocks, to write. Students in Miss Julia’s class also used Proloquo2Go to make letters for friends. The best part was delivering the letters to our friends! Communication and literacy is such fun! See more
16.01.2022 Finally some photos from last Friday's Sports Day - more to come after the holidays. It was our first sports day with only our school in attendance and although it was a bit quieter than normal and events took less time, everyone enjoyed themselves. Senior Secondary staff and students provided the sausage sizzle which was delicious! A big thank you to our Adopt-A-Cop Rob who presented ribbons for our lower Primary. A big thank you to Terry for organising the day, Celvin for all his line marking and the staff and families who joined in events and made the day a positive end to the term.
