19.01.2022 This year an unusual double entry was selected as an Archibald Prize finalist - Ernest Brothers, by artists Digby Webster and Neil Tomkins. We were lucky enough to have Digby walk us through his process and take us on a visit to see his work at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. #IDPwD

14.01.2022 How great is this?! After months of preparation, volunteer-led program Cycling Without Age - Yeppoon is launching this weekend. "[We wanted] to allow our s...eniors to enjoy the wind in their hair and get out and see our beautiful coastline ... the plan is that we will utilise the gifts of nature as much as we can," Community Captain Mary O'Donnell said. A three-wheeled power-assisted bike with up to two passengers who sit on a special flat front seat will be used to take passengers for a ride. "[The aim is] to provide connections between the elderly and seniors in our community, or people who have mobility issues, with our volunteers," Mary said. "We're really grateful to those wonderful community organisations who have made it possible, we don't want money to be a barrier to enjoying our environment." 17-year-old Eboneigh Philp uses a wheelchair. She is looking forward to enjoying more time in nature. "I don't get out too much, so I struggle to see the beaches and that because I struggle to push myself a long distance so having that is really helpful," she said.

08.01.2022 A wonderful effort by members of our Horse Care team this weekend! Karen noticed a significant wound on Chief yesterday and reported it to Trudy. They cleaned and cared for it until this afternoon and called in Tony Hart for further help and advice which he gave willingly. This team will continue to monitor Chief’s condition over the next few days so he is in very good hands. Well done and thank you all.
08.01.2022 Thank you Tony Hart from Hart’s Family Funerals for sacrificing your Sunday morning to help and donate to Rockhampton Horse Riding for the Disabled. Tony collected our new horse, Navardo, from north of Yaamba, trimmed his hoofs, wormed him, assessed him and gave him a short training session. These photos show the results- an alert, happy and good natured horse ready to work with us when we start again next year. A wonderful, generous donation! We would also like to thank the Mayne family from Springsure who gave him to us. We’re sure he will be a wonderful addition to our small herd.
