25.01.2022 Lets talk wolf teeth 60 million years ago, the dawn horse stood only as tall as a dog. It foraged on fruits and small shrubs. The wolf teeth were then used f...or breaking up woody plants. As its diet changed with the climate, the dawn horse evolved into the now modern horse and no longer has the need for wolf teeth. The wolf teeth do not play an active role mastication process. They are known as the first premolar and sit directly in front of the second premolar teeth. They are most commonly found in the upper jaw but can also be found in the lower. Because of their positioning in relation to the the bit, they can cause pain and discomfort when being ridden resulting in resistance. This is why it is recommended for them to be removed. It is easier to remove wolf teeth at a younger age, for as they get older, the tooth fuses into the bone of the jaw. So when sending your young stock off to be broken in, be sure to book them in for a dental treatment to make the mouthing process easier on your horse.

24.01.2022 Day 4 Breaking In/Colt Starting Clinic November 2020 Our participants enjoyed a fabulous morning on a nice long paddock ride, exposing their horses to many different riding terrains and conditions. They all concluded the day leaning riding drills to take home to continue the education program. We'd like to take this chance to say a massive thankyou to our participants, these clinic are made fabulous by you all.
