21.01.2022 There has been a lot of talk about the new additional 10 Mental Health Care services. The Government has specified that these sessions are in addition to the existing Mental Health Care Plan sessions (currently 10 sessions per calendar year). However, these additional sessions are "designed to provide assistance to people who are experiencing severe or enduring mental health impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic". Please be aware that is your GP that needs to sign off on these additional sessions. A full copy of the Factsheet can be obtained here

Due to a new expansion of our suites that includes more consultation rooms and a group therapy room, an opportunity now exists for full time or part time, skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologists / Psychologists who are highly skilled and ...enthusiastic about working with a variety of presentations and demographics to join our progressive team. As with most practices, we are currently inundated with referrals and require more clinicians to help service increasing demand for treatments. As a team, we aim to service as wide a range of presenting issues as possible by having team members with varying areas of interests and specializations. Successful applicants must hold current full registration with AHPRA and be eligible to apply for a Medicare provider number. We offer an attractive salary package, or can offer a competitive and fair percentage for room rental including full admin support. 03.01.2022 The Government has taken the initiative to increase the Mental Health Plan rebates by up to a further 10 sessions per calendar year (in addition to the existing 10 sessions per calendar year). However, this is a direct result of the issues caused by COVID-19. Therefore, in order to qualify for these additional sessions you need to be assessed by your GP as needing more sessions under a Mental Health Plan because you have been impacted by COVID-19. As with all Mental Health Plans your GP is your first step.
