25.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon we helped Kwinana Volunteer Fire & Rescue complete a hazard reduction burn whilst giving probationary members some fireground experience.



21.01.2022 Our ten current Probationary Firefighters joined the Brigade in July are working through their training before they progress to Active Membership. Over the last few Wednesday nights we have been focussing on road rescue tools and techniques. Probationary training on station is designed to give basic skills and understanding, all members still need to complete formal courses such as Road Rescue as well as First Aid, Manage Injuries and Casualty Transfer Systems

Yesterday we participated in an exercise with our neighbouring career and volunteer stations involving a ‘bush fire’ through the Fletcher Road area of Karnup. It simulated the realistic triaging we undertake during bush fires of properties based on how defendable residents have made them with bushfire preparations Search ‘Fire Chat’ to learn how to better prepare yourself and property before and during this coming bushfire season



14.01.2022 With land owners, local Brigades and Parks & Wildlife Service taking advantage of current conditions to conduct hazard reduction and perscribed burns, sometimes it can be unclear as to what is controlled and what needs a Brigade to attend.
