11.01.2022 The Wild Geese Memorial commemorates the escape of six Irish Fenian political prisoners, Robert Cranston, Thomas Darragh, Michael Harrington, Thomas Hassett, Martin Hogan, and James Wilson, from Fremantle Prison in 1876. After escaping Fremantle, the men made their way south to Rockingham where the crew of the Catalpa were waiting for them, near where the memorial now stands. The memorial is a statue depicting six wild geese in flight, the design of which was initiated by an Irish-Australian Perth citizen, the late Francis Conlan, whose name is also recorded on the memorial. 07.01.2022 Great news. Well done City of Rockingham!

07.01.2022 With 37km of spectacular coastline, Rockingham is renowned for its safe, calm waters, pristine beaches, marine animals and abundance of aquatic activities. It's important that we all do our bit to keep it all clean. If you'd like to help, head down to The Pond this Sunday. Erin from #justagirlcleaningbeaches will be there from 9.45 with bags for those who require one. If you prefer, you can bring your own bag, start anywhere you like and walk to the meeting point for an 11 am finish. Please remember to bring any PPE you require, and be responsible for your own safety.

06.01.2022 The City of Rockingham Castaways Sculpture Awards starts this weekend. It's always a great event and the weather is beautiful. While you're here, remember to cast your vote for the people's choice awards and stop for something to eat at one of the many local cafe's and restaurants.
