25.01.2022 A huge congratulations to both the Year 7 and the Year 8 Rugby League teams going through their games undefeated to win their grand finals in the NRLWA 9-a-side carnivals. The team work and sportsmanship from all players was outstanding and all of the boys were a credit to Rockingham Senior High School.

24.01.2022 Today at Rockingham SHS we held our Week 8 House Day, it was great to see so many students and staff showing off their house colours. Students who wore their house colours were rewarded with a sausage sizzle at recess. Congratulates to Peron who had the most students in house colours. We hope to see you all in your house shirts again for our next House Day (Term 3, Week 4).
24.01.2022 Year 12 Marine and Maritime students have been working on a project with Mr Lazarus to complement the aquaculture component of the syllabus. Aquaponics is a system which combines aquaculture and hydroponics. The fish are Silver Perch and went into the system Monday 27th of July.

23.01.2022 Year 7 Try-athon practice happened today on the oval with everyone smiling and making predictions for their distances next Friday. Next friday over 120 year 7s and 390 students in total are due to run to raise money for Telethon and so far students such as Mali have raised over $1200 on their own. This carnival promotes participation and engages players from a wide variety of ethnicities to foster their netball skills in a fun and encouraging environment. In this time he has had an enormous impact on the lives of many staff and students (both past and present). 16.01.2022 Match Play Day: when the entire Netball family comes together. Mixed teams of Years 7-10 compete in a round robin tournament and are assessed on their court performance with a focus on footwork, passing, attacking and defensive play. 15.01.2022 Congratulations to our Year 10 Netball girls on the successful implementation of their House Netball Participation Day for Year 7 students. As part of their coaching assessment the girls were required to plan and coordinate, as a team, ice-breaker activities, skill coaching sessions, minute to win it games and a round robin tournament. Their leadership skills and collaboration were outstanding and we are incredibly proud of the growth they have shown this year. Murtagh & Jonesy

They made a commendable effort with only 7 players against strong competition. Unfortunately this was the end of their journey this year. 11.01.2022 Parent Information Evenings This afternoon we are holding our Year 7 2021 Parent Information Evening. A school tour will take place at 4:30pm 5pm with the Parent Information session following on at 5pm 6pm. Parents and children are welcome to attend. We would like to remind all Year 10 Parents and Students about the Course Counselling Information Evening, which will be held in the School Gymnasium. 11.01.2022 Congratulations to Stirling on winning the House Basketball Championship! All games were played with a positive attitude and a competitive spirit. The grand final was a tightly contested game and the teams were pushed to their limits. In the end, Stirling came out as 26-24 winners against Carnac. A big thank you goes out to the House Coordinators, and any other staff/students that made it happen. The shield and medals will be handed out next term.
11.01.2022 Some of our Year 12s spent the day yesterday at the zoo revising evolutionary trends of primates in preparation for their upcoming exams. Mrs Beven is very appreciative of the students being great representatives of our school today & for bringing cake! We wish all the Year 12 students well for their exam revision.

09.01.2022 Celebrating NAIDOC Week Always Was, Always Will Be Throughout last term AIEO Miss Tynara and many of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students re-painted the pavers in our school’s Katadjin Miya (outdoor learning area) and created a display in the library which recognises the culture and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, before and after the colonisation of Australia. Well done to all in involved, they look moorditj!

Students were recognised for their academic achievements and displays of the schools REAL values (Respect, Engage, Achieve and Learn) for the first Semester. Congratulations to all our award recipients.
08.01.2022 Yesterday Year 12 students studying the Cert IV in Preparation for Nursing Studies were fortunate enough to have a guest speaker from Brightwater attend class and talk about careers in Occupational Therapy. Students had the opportunity to look at some of the tools and techniques that occupational therapists use to help treat people who are suffering with problems that effect their everyday work and living activities. Occupational Therapy is just one of a number of VET pathways that students who study the Cert IV in Preparation for Nursing Studies can move into post school.
08.01.2022 Kaya! Yesterday, students in Mr. Blachfords Year 7 English/HASS class traveled to Point Peron to participate in an Indigenous Cultural Experience. They were led by Justin, a South West Noongar local, who shared his knowledge of the cultural significance of Point Peron, language, the seasons, local bush food, plants and animals as well as some dreamtime stories of the local land. He led a Welcome To Country on the shores of the beach and discussed ancient practices of local I...ndigenous people. Later, students created their own stories using the language learnt in the tour, looked at some traditional artifacts and made damper traditionally - on an open camp fire of hot coals! The students high level of respect and behaviour is to be commended. Thanks to Constable Gemma, from the Rockingham Police Station, for joining in with us and bringing culture and community together. 07.01.2022 PBS Rewards! During lunchtime on Thursdays students are able to drop off their completed REAL cards to the library to exchange for prizes. REAL cards are stamped by staff for displays of positive behaviours. Congratulations to Vivian, the winner of our weekly raffle who scored a $15 canteen voucher.

06.01.2022 Our busy Netball calendar continued last week with the Endorsed Specialist Schools Carnival at Gold Netball Centre. Both teams performed very well against strong competition. 02.01.2022 James and Ethan Climb Down Challenge Whole body workouts designed and conducted as paired assessments for the Year 10 Rugby League program. In pairs students are required to program a balanced, easy to follow but challenging workout for their team mates. Pairs are then required to do it themselves in their spare time, before efficiently coaching the whole group (and teacher) by positively motivating and ensuring correct technique at all times. This is occurring twice a week for the term until all students have completed each workout.
02.01.2022 Congratulations to Ben Lee in the year 7 Rugby League Program for recently winning the WA School Sport Weightlifting competition in the under 14s division. He represented the Rockingham region and will be at the front of the pack for State selections in December. Great work Benjamin.

01.01.2022 On Friday the school will host its annual Try-athon, where students run/walk laps of the oval all day and ALL money raised goes to Telethon. This year we have close to 450 students participating, this includes runners and clerical assistants on the day. Our students set a goal to raise $30, 000. This will bring our total raised over the years for Telethon to over $200,000. Our amazing students, parents, community and staff have been working hard in the lead up to this even...t and have already reached $37,500! We are so proud of our students and the hard work and commitment they are putting in to raising money for a brilliant cause. Thank you to everyone who has donated.
