23.01.2022 Here we go again!!!... as many of you probably are aware by now Victoria seems to be royally screwed at the moment! We all need to do our part to make this right! To get back to a life as close as possible to what we used to know. Today, Dan Andrews confirmed what we all thought was coming and as of midnight Wednesday 5th, all salons will close for 6 weeks. While it has very much saddened me to have to clos...e I do believe it’s what is best to try and finally stump this out for good! If you have an appointment within the next 6 weeks don’t worry, I will be in touch once I am allowed to re open and we will make sure you are all looking glamorous again in no time! But for now stay safe everyone... can’t wait to see you all on the other side xx

19.01.2022 Rock Paper Scissors is back! ...but with slightly altered days and hours for now... mini update...... Since having to close temporarily, my career has had to change...as well as a hairdresser I am now also a teacher...yep Mrs Thorgersen has been puled out to teach master Evan grade 2. While the Victorian government has announced the return to school, this still will not be taking place till May 26th ( at the earliest as Evans school hasnt quite confirmed that yet to us) So for now, although I am ready to get back to work, my days and hours are coming back slightly altered, so that I am still to be mum and teacher to the boys. Over the past couple of weeks some of you, who have been very patiently waiting after your last appointment was cancelled, will have had your appointments rescheduled. I have done my very best to get in contact with those who had to be cancelled first and have been waiting the longest. While a lot of you now have appointments, If there is anyone who doesnt yet and would like to rebook, I would love to hear from you to arrange a time. As much as I have very much enjoyed spending this time with my family, I am looking forward to getting back to a bit of normality and getting our groove back! Cannot wait to see you all again x

16.01.2022 Rock Paper Scissors now stocking SCRUNCHIES! One of my beautiful friends and her daughter have an amazing business hand making a lot of stunning things... including scunchies! So it was a no brainer for me when it came to helping out another small business to stock these gorgeous scrunchies So next time you are in feel free to have a little browse and pick out a fav or two!....... Selling for $3 each or 4 for $10 With Christmas coming up they are such lovely gifts and stocking fillers Looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous faces over this busy Christmas period

14.01.2022 After much watching and waiting it seems we may or may not get some news on when salons are allowed to reopen tomorrow! Originally I thought there is no way we would be opening on Monday but now I’m not so sure...never the less the government are not giving us much notice at all when it comes to reopening... so this is my plan.... if the go ahead is given to open this Monday (19th) I will take Monday to sit and contact everyone on my list and make sure you all have your app...ointments when it suits. And hopefully resume work in the salon beginning Tuesday. Before this time it would have been useless re scheduling anyone back in just to have me rebooking again when they decide they have changed their mind on re opening dates. The way I will try and work rescheduling is the people who have been waiting the longest will get preference, but don’t worry I will do my very best to accomodate everyone as soon as I can. It looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel which is super exciting! Fingers crossed in the next few months we will be sitting back talking about how crazy it all was so looking forward to seeing you all again!

14.01.2022 Rock Paper Scissors remains open!! After a few days of uncertainty I am so happy to be able to say we can stay open for business! As excited as I am this news does come with some new safety standards outlined by the government, which all clients must adhere to if i am to continue to operate....As everyone is aware by now, social distancing plays one of the biggest parts in this virus ending. I am very lucky to already able to offer one on one service every single appointmen...t however, I will have to ramp this up with asking all clients to come in alone, so no children, friends, partners etc are now able to attend your appointments. Once you enter the salon I will require you to wash your hands first before we start, and (based on case by case) I also may need to wash your hair prior to your service. If you are sick or have been in contact with anyone who is sick, or have recently traveled overseas or within Australia, I please ask that you reschedule your appointment, failure to do so may result in me having to turn you away. On my end, rest assured I will be ramping up the sanitising of the salon once again. Each client will wear a fresh gown and towel, everything will be sanitised in between clients and no magazines will be available for now as I have been told if contaminated they can hold the virus for a substantial timeframe if allowed to sit there. If there is any confusion or questions please feel free to message me and I will do my best to answer. In this time of uncertainty and a feeling of anxiousness in the air I’m so glad that I am able to still make you all still feel beautiful, and hopefully for at least a couple of hours in your day try and relax and forget the crazy world! 12.01.2022 Rock Paper Scissors family! I miss you!! Salon update number 5472... well that’s what it feels like anyway After the announcement on Sunday it took me a couple of days to get my ducks in order, before I could post to an update for you all. ... Dan Andrews has, at this point, announced that hair dressers will be able to reopen as of October 26th (yay!!). I had originally decided to book everyone in now, and as much as I would love to still do that, Andrews seems to have a lovely habit of changing the goal posts on us. It is for this reason I have now decided that as soon as a definite date is given, I will work down my list of clients who were due to have their appointments while lockdown has been on and be in touch to reschedule Asap! For those who wish to make a new appointment please don’t hesitate to contact me and you may also be placed on my list and again as soon as the green light is given I will be in touch. Lockdown has been such a crazy roller coaster ride, I really do hope that everyone is staying safe and happy...sending all my positive vibes out and wanted to let you know I am so excited to get back in the salon again with you all ... I’m ready for the challenge of all the lockdown fix up jobs

For everyone with an up coming appointment please be aware that masks will also be required to be worn when getting your locks taken care of. 04.01.2022 ***SALON UPDATE *** For now Rock Paper Scissors will remain open. Under stage 3 restrictions hairdressers are allowed to still operate. I do however understand and respect that some of you may like to cancel your appointment. Please send me a message letting me know if you decide to do so, and I will be happy to reschedule when you once again feel comfortable doing so. Moving forward I ask a couple of things...when arriving at the salon plea...se use the sanitiser provided at your seat, please attend your appointment alone, no friends or family members (including children) may attend with you. If you are unwell, waiting on test results or have been around someone who is suspected to be sick I ask that you reschedule your appointment. While I am happy to keep operating, my family is my number one priority and I need to take every precaution to keep them safe. 02.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to inform all Rock Paper Scissors clients that I have made the difficult decision to close. The governments new and updated policies outlined for the hairdressing industry means that we have only been given a 30 minute max window allocation for any service, which unfortunately is basically impossible.... I will be in touch with anyone with an upcoming appointment to explain this situation. Once the lockdown and restrictions are lifted I will be in touch again to reschedule everyone, as I know by then we will all becoming pretty desperate and sporting an unintentional extended regrowth!...But hey, the best thing about lockdown is you don’t have to see anyone so whip your hair up into a bun, hibernate and try and enjoy some downtime with your family because that’s where you’ll find me! I appreciate your constant loyalty to me and look forward to the time I can look after you once again Take care guys! stay safe and look after one another... oh and please... no home packet colours
