Financial strain from reducing the pub’s 700 person capacity to 100 punters during the pandemic has exposed the adversity faced by many venues for over a decade. NowUC’s Meg Hobson looks at how The Basement has become one of Canberra’s few remaining battlegrounds for the future of the city’s live music scene.
