We've many customers asking what we're doing with deliveries at the moment, and we have quite a few up and coming calves, however due to the dry conditions, there's been a slower weight gain. 20.01.2022 Now here's something you don't see everyday - Twins! Before Nathan and I were blessed enough to have the opportunity to purchase a Red Angus herd, we started with some cows of mixed heritage. This Hereford cow, who we called, "Nicey" (because she's so nice!), was the very first we bought. She came from Gatton Saleyards and was about 8 months old. Whilst the remainder of our herd is Red Angus, (exception of one Murray Grey), we have kept Nicey because she not only produces so...lidly performing calves, but she has such a lovely nature. About 6 weeks ago she gave birth to a fully Red bull calf and a baldy faced heifer. Probably not ideal going into Winter, however this glorious rain we've had lately has given the paddocks a much needed boost. We hope everyone in the Lockyer Valley who received a quarter on the weekend is enjoying their beef and all quarters for the April 10 delivery are now sold. 19.01.2022 Hello Brisbane! The steer on the far right is coming to you in 13 days time! Invoices for this order will be sent out to customers early this week. We also hope that the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley customers are enjoying their quarters after delivery yesterday. We have TWO deliveries upcoming - March 20 - Lockyer Valley run ALL SOLD and April 10 - a Lockyer Valley/Ipswich/Brisbane run with 7 QUARTERS REMAINING.... Despite the increasing price of beef we are still at $11.00 per kg for beautiful Grass Fed Red Angus quarters, delivered in a refrigerated vehicle with Safe Food Accreditation. Grass fed beef has a lovely, soft taste and many years has gone into breeding our quiet, high yielding calves that are well cared for. We aim for 35-45kg quarters containing Rump, Silverside, Topside, Ribfillet, Eye fillet, Ribroast, T-bone, Y-bone, Blade, Round, Gravy beef, Brisket, Spare ribs, Chuck and Osso Bucco cut exactly as you would like. 16.01.2022 UPDATE: SOLD! THANKS EVERYONE. Urgent Ipswich and Brisbane friends! Due to extenuating family circumstances one of our Brisbane customers has been unable to take their order for delivery 27 June. It is a 43kg quarter at $11.00 per kg, therefore total cost $473.00 delivered in a refrigerated, safe food registered vehicle. Cuts include rump, silverside, topside, ribfillet, eye fillet, ribroast, t-bone, y-bone, blade, round, gravy beef, brisket, spare ribs, chuck and osso cut ex...actly as you would like. Mince and sausages are included as are bones and offal if you wish. You don't need to be a gourmet chef to cook our beautiful grass fed meat; because it's so tender, there's a lot of leeway. Here's a picture of a rib roast I did in the tagine. I normally am not a fan of rib roast, as I find it a rather fibrous dish, however I can assure you that the hardest the knife had to work, was to cut the string. The cheapest grass fed beef at Woolworths you can buy is mince, at $16.00 per kg, let alone their choice cuts, such as rib fillet, which is upwards of $35 per kg. We need to know ASAP if you would like this quarter please, we are a small family business and have already sent the calves to the butcher, so it must be sold. 11.01.2022 UPDATE: All sold, delivery in November. This guy is about a week shy of 3 months old, and what a cracker he is, despite the conditions, especially this wind! Even though we've had a few nice showers, it hasn't been substantial enough to combat the slower growth rate in Winter, therefore our next delivery is postponed until October 9. This will be a Lockyer Valley delivery, with 6 quarters remaining for sale. We can also deliver sides of lamb, for $15 per kg, whether purch...asing beef or not. Grass fed beef embodies a lighter flavour than those fed or even finished on grain. It's tender and so easy to cook with. $11.00 per kg delivered in a refrigerated vehicle. 07.01.2022 Firstly, thank you to all our wonderful customers that continue to purchase off us, despite the inconsistency of our deliveries due to previous forced stock dispersal due to drought and an ongoing drier Winter. You don’t know how much we appreciate your continued support in order to keep our small beef business going. Secondly, a few weeks ago we had a cow die and she left behind a three day old calf which we’ve had to bottle raise. So that this little heifer wasn’t alone,... we were able to acquire a couple of Jersey calves to keep her company and hand raise also. Here’s a cute little video of Muz (our Murray Grey heifer), and the two Jersey calves, Alf and Nippy. It’s a rather time consuming job bottle raising calves but farming is only ever easy on a good day. Muz was about 2 and a half weeks old in this video, whereas Alf and Nippy were only a few days old. They’re now 7 weeks and 4 weeks respectively so I’ll upload a video of how they look now in the next few days. Thirdly, there is a January delivery for Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba customers. There are 5 of the eight quarters remaining. Despite beef prices rising we’re still at $11 per kg delivered in a refrigerated vehicle. Straight from the paddock, Red Angus calves raised and fattened on our pastures. Send a message to reserve your quarter and have a blessed Christmas.
